I don’t have the back story yet but we have a family get together in August.... I will sort it. It seems it was a regular rally these relatives participated in!!

A while ago I converted some old family slides (the wifes side) to jpg, and found these.
Am working on the back story but looks fun!
In which case hopefully you're aware of this thread...Am working on the back story but looks fun!

You're probably aware that those number plates are export plates (Z for Zollamt = Customs), so I would guess that this would have been taken pretty immediately after importing to the UK. Both cars have a Union Jack sticker in the top corner of the screen; might they have been military folk (BFPO/BAOR perhaps) ?Am working on the back story but looks fun!

Not sure if I have posted this photo before, but here we go.
Here's Dad and Grandad, pictured in Fleet, Hampshire back in the very early '60s.
Couple of very interesting cars in the background. Interestingly, Dad did have a Lotus Six clone at about that time (MTR 2, where are you now?), though this isn't the car pictured.

Was it based on a singer 9 chassis and running gear? Here's Dad and Grandad, pictured in Fleet, Hampshire back in the very early '60s.

Love these (relatively) old photos... I had an uncle (George) who used to wear his trousers very high like that. He was considerably fatter and I was always fascinated by his trousers as a child!! Here's Dad and Grandad, pictured in Fleet, Hampshire back in the very early '60s.

The red VW earlier is lovely too. My mother had an Anglia.... ah.... memories!
My great uncle Cecil had the same penchant for high waisted trouserage, when exactly did it die out..?
In total contrast, another dash of foreign exotica, the Miura is fab, but is that a Fiat 130 saloon on the left...?
Spanking new wares awaiting their first owners at the Lamborghini factory, c.1970 I'd say...

Wandering a bit OT here, but I can see no overhead wires - did nobody have phones ? It would be interesting (well to me anyway) to find the place on Streetview and see how it looks nowadays. Here's Dad and Grandad, pictured in Fleet, Hampshire back in the very early '60s.
