How about a 'period' classics pictures thread

Points duly given.
As has been pointed out in the other picture I've posted, the URL for this somewhat gives away the year as being 1965
Except that if it is an Escort in the foreground, it can't be.As has been pointed out in the other picture I've posted, the URL for this somewhat gives away the year as being 1965
Also Peugeot 204 was launched mid '65, Wikipedia doesn't mention an on sale date, but that would also make it unlikely.
Surprised at how many foreign cars are in the photo given that even now in provincial France it's not unusual to see 8 or 9 out of 10 cars parked up being French marques/Dacia. Just goes to show how much capital cities differ from the rest of their countries.

I thought it was the Suffolk one was confirmed as being 1965?
Getting confused here

I'd think that the Corsair would date that one to 1965 or later ? And is it RHD ? Lots more foreign cars there than your other photo - 3 Mercs, BMW/Isetta, Escort, Alfa (behind the R4) ?, Kadett, Fiat. What's the white car on the right between the two white Mercs - an Opel ?Just noticed - the url gives the year away !

The Escort looks to be RHD as well, silver fox metallic. It has the perforated seat trim but no stainless trims around the side windows so would be a 67-68 1300GT.
The Ford Pubic is RHD as well.
I'll get my coat.
Its hot outside, so you won't need your coat to go to Specsavers......The Ford Pubic is RHD as well.
I'll get my coat.
The Escort is clearly LHD, as you can see the top of the steering wheel through the Isetta's windows

Tell us more!I used to work for a well-known restoration outfit and had a call one day asking if anyone would be interested in a "free old car." Donor's Pa had passed on and she needed to empty his workshop quickly, so I quite naturally responded in the affirmative!
It's a good old Ford Pop E93 sidevalve special, built by her father in 1959 from an Edwards Brothers kit (known as the "EB60"). He took it off the road in '61 and it never turned a wheel again until we winched it from its slumbers and onto the trailer. There was still air in the tyres - genuine antique that, sir! - and everything moves/turns except for the engine and box, which are both notable by their absence.
It'll be a while until I need to worry about motive power, anyway - plenty to do before I get to that stage...

Can I collect my easy points for identifying the car park opposite the cathedral in Bury St Edmunds
Close but no cigar, it is Angel Hill on Bury St Edmunds, which is opposite Abbeygate. The Cathedral is a little further to the South.6WBJ belonged at the time to a friend of my mother's and dates the photo to '64-5.
