How about a 'period' classics pictures thread

What an engaging set of models. So tempting to try and recreate the scene.
Never seen the white 'surrey topped' taxi in the flesh but I've owned most of the others and I can count the Ecurie Ecosse transporter (sadly with only the Lotus left from the set) - mine still has the vice in the workshop though - amongst my survivors along with the 400e Caravanette, P1800, Heinkel and the ERF bulk carrier.

Starting to scan my father's rather large collection of slides and negatives, I expect there will be quite a few vehicles amongst them although they weren't a specific interest of his.
Start with a truck that I can't identify, taken in Austria I think, late 1950's or early 1960's perhaps?
It looks like a Saurer. They were based in Arbon, Switzerland. There's a good museum thereStart with a truck that I can't identify, taken in Austria I think, late 1950's or early 1960's perhaps?

I'd never seen (or heard) of 'Vichy Celestins' before - turns out it's a Spa mineral water outfit. Wonder how they lost out to Perrier in the decades after (unless all bottled waters are from one tap and it's all a branding exercise thereon - who knows?).Gareth1974 said:
