. . . of the TR4:
Cheng and Dominic will do fine in the 6 Hrs Spa race I'm sure. Top 30 if all stays in one piece.
Buth and gorgeous TR3 followed by MGB, Dominic approaching.
Jerry hunting down the quick Spitfire.
Battle of the Bs.
Nice and typical Equipe GTS pack: WSM Sprite, Midget, Elise and B.
More Equipe GTS.

What happend to Richards E? Looked like a riot. Will he race that one as well?
It was a Nitemare. From the previous year when now issue, bang 22 overall (mega result for a B with no "trick" engine). Last year wheel snapped lap 3, so last after limping in and popping a new one on with worn down disc (1/2 lap on the disc!), that would have been fine but then mid to late on he had all sorts of electrical charging issues, (turned out during the year some lead had been connected the wrong way round (so won't happen this year) so lights and charging syetem stuffed - stuggle, but to get a mid 60 finish with huge amounts of time in the pits was good (but not good if you know what I mean). Car should be a bit better this year, with hopefully 08 level of reliability (i.e. just normal change over and lots of lappery).
He was going to try to do in the New Grantura, but engine in that was found to be Sh*te and not enough time to get a new trick one. When that come out with same or better driveline, that should be a top 15 or higher car, but needs testing running, as it looks nice but never raced. We were working on him to bring the E but just too much work to get the B sorted, so any extra time will be best spent relaxing not prepping another car for another race (Masters).
Nice to know you're talking about me....
The lightweight is too nice to race in the 6 Hrs - at least for my budget. If I lost a corner I could buy half of the other cars in the race for the repair cost. I had thought about the Masters 2 Hr race but that is the last race of the weekend and means significant additional cost and another day off work, so maybe next year. I will probably focus on road rallies in 2011 with it such as the Modena Cento Ore unless there are some really good events for the E type 50th anniversary year.
I would have loved to run the Grantura in the 6 Hrs but the car has never been driven in anger and needs many weekends of sorting. Although it had papers there were some awful parts to its preparation - eg seat and harness mounted to fibreglass anyone? The engine was just a cooking road version, std gearbox and no LSD. We have no idea about whether the set up, cooling or electics work properly so it was just not sensible to waste a load of money on an entry when I have an MGB that is virtually ready to go - we have a different set of rims for this year and an alternator that works.
The Grantura now has a seat/pedal arrangement that works, rebuilt SC gearbox and an LSD ready to fit when I can find some drive shafts that are not made of chocolate. I expect a new engine soon although finding a decent donor head has been a nightmare - both my alloy crossflow heads are u/s. Hopefully it should be ready for shakedown this side of Christmas and on the button for 2011. It would be good to give the Marcos and the 911s a run for their money in September 2011.
