The car looks simply stunning now!

What a great story, complete with a happy ending which we could all do with these days.

Looks brilliant.

I like the way you have avoided the temptation to go with chrome wheels. Just a little low key and classy.

Hi, sorry but with the weather and other things, not had time to take loads of photos. One of the rear attached.
I took it out for a short run on thursday. The overdrive worked when cold but not on the way back. I took the large brass nit holding the main filter out when I got back and it was full of sludge so I am hoping that with clean oil ìt will be OK.

This is just one of the most enjoyable threads on PH. Fantastic to see it risen from the dead smile

Hi all, just a note to let you all know that Practical Classics magazine visited me on thursday. They did an interview and photo shoot and will feature the car in the New Year. I will let you know exactly when once I have been informed
Another "Jaguar" orientated magazine is also keen to feature the car and will visit after the first publication is done.
Although I don't court publicity, I would like to thank you all for contributing to this thread and bringing it to the attention of so many people. It has been a very challenging restoration and turned out to be a fascinating story.
The car is going very well. I am keen to do 500 miles and get it run in. I will be taking it to the Jaguar E Type/XK weekend which is being held at Shelsey Walsh next June and will be applying to drive it up the hill, and if that goes well will be doing a few more hillclimbs in the future.

XKMan are you planning to shorten the exhaust pipes? They seem quite long. Just looked at mine and it might be due to your lack of bumpers.

Hi Mike, nice 140 FHC. Yes the exhaust pipes are standard and with no bumpers do stick out. I quite like them as they are but may shorten them if they cause any issues. Thanks

Great to see! Can't believe it's 10 years ago now.

I think it should take a trip back to Foxhall at some point.

Used to be loads, Arena Essex, Crayford, ALdershot & Wimbledon. Competed at the latter two. Only one left I know of is Arena Essex & I think that maybe under threat. Swaffham is still going, not sure about King's Lynn but both are a fair haul from the SE.
Think it's still on at gt Yarmouth.

They have just demolished the main building at Arena Essex.

The guy who gives the commentary on the link below (no video just a still of the building being pulled down) was famous for being devoted to the place and gets very emotional

Spedeworth still have meetings most Sunday afternoons at Aldershot, albeit at Rushmoor Arena rather than the original Aldershot Stadium that got closed so the A331 could be built.

I think Spedeworth also have meetings at Arlington near Eastbourne, but they tend to be mostly in the summer.
