Spa 2007:

Pretty cool race that.

Surely the whole point about Big Healeys, from a driver POV, is that they offer so much interesting tail out motoring. All of them (if they are being pushed for fun), everywhere. Very 'in period' stuff. IMHO.

Get a bunch of the regulars playing together, practice, qualifying or race - does not matter, and you can just tell they are all having fun.

[I can vouch that Healeys can be faster than Jags; certainly up to 100mph or so. Aero starts to work against the AH after I think.

I had a memorable clash with Jags at Spa a couple of years ago. In particular, with an E-Type I gave some 'racing room'. He passed but I found, to my surprise, in a straight drag race out of the Bus Stop the AH was faster and I re-passed (Albert has the photo somewhere!). It was a long way up the Kemel before the E-Type was back.
Yeah, I remember, Phil!

You talking top line LW E Phil? (vs a Healey). They must be the best part or 3.4ltrs anyway.

Been in one of those (not with a top spec engine Tour Auto Spec), and they are Damned fast.

Nope, that wasn't me.

I was talking about XKs rather than E's.
The E is much faster out of the corners than an XK, they're much lighter.
Not sure what the weight comparison is like between the E and an AH.

An XK on the track is also all about tail out fun. Long live live axles and crossplies is all I can say :-)

I'm with you on the Live axles (i.e. TR2-4's) but not sure on the crossplys, I like it moving about a bit, but I do like Some Grip to fire me out of corners (the world did not stop in 1965) smilewink

Ah yeas XK's vs LW E's a different kettle of fish.

Yep. Just think E type rather than XK smile

Healeys in the 6 Hours:

While the best placed Healey got up to a dissapointing 34th, this Italo / Brit team reached a 62nd. Stunning car in red though.

Jeremy Welch driving did not help.

The P34 Healey 100M battling Britcars.

Van Lanschot / LeBlanc / Sinke Healey: 81 / 3:07. What happened?

Next: TRs in the 6 Hours.

Keep the great pictures coming dinkel , in answer to your cobra question , the Stretton / Caine was the one I was asking about , the number 25 silver / black centre stripe , alternator probs put them out , probably a specific Spa problem , cold , wet and dark , extra lights , etc. etc,

Cheers for that!

TRs, but we already saw a few pass:

Excellent 18th for the Foster / Brewer TR4 (3:10).

It's getting dark. Looking cool TR4 with the lights on (79/3:09).

German TR4 did not bad either, at 24rd.

Barries race:

Nice 29th for this German Healey.

Thundering Tiger (P39).

Looking for V8 machinerie . . .

But Ken . . . it's all blurry!

More atmospheric stuff:

Winners office.

Lots of duct tape was used during this Spa6 weekend.

Typical pit-lane scenery.

645CGTs brother: http://www.supercars.net/cars/682.html

Shaun Lynn's outstanding original Cobra.

Pre-Woodcote Trophy race chat.

Post-Woodcote Trophy cleaning.

It struck me that C2s are pretty good value at 50Kish. Turning it into an app. K racer should add a bit but with a light car and V8 racing in the upper regions is not too far away as you might think.

More . . .

The door handle's fine
and even the rear shut line of the door more or less sharp at this size.

The turning it into an app.K is the expensive bit (trust me I've looked into it). To do it properly you are probably looking at another £50k+, just think spare engine, gearbox and diff, then add on all the smaller bits, 3 sets of wheels and tyres, half shafts etc etc. It all mounts up and you need the budget to make it work.

On budget then:

Love these Midget and Turner racers.
