A fantastic 61st finish for Dominic Spicers fine 2.2 TR4 Triumph:

I watched the 5th hour from the pit and saw Dominic jump in the car - footage soon - replacing a fantastic driving Cheng. He returned after just 3 laps: showers of rain and passing Xenon lights were a bit too much. Dickson jumped in and finished business together with Cheng. Superb job done here guys, congrats!

Watched this fine running early Triumph race at the superfast Zandvoort track this spring: I recognised a fine endurance machine. Wonderfull effort in its 6 Hours maiden voyage. Very nice 3:13 secs quickest laptime.

The front spoiler on the front of the Bryant Cobra is an abomination - I realise it was in period (one car - this car) but jesus it is hideous - Awesome from all other angle - followed it most of the way from Calais.

See what you mean, just a bit of metal stuck on as an after thought. I does rather stick out.

The deflector on the lightweight's bonnet is bit like that too. I presume its there to create a low pressure zone over the louvres so you actually get some air flow out of them. I seem to remember that they found on one of the Jaguars that there are a high pressure area in front of the windscreen and above these vents that stopped them working and actually made things hotter under the bonnet.

Less crap on the screen - flicks it (air) up before it gets to the screen.

That 250F was gorgeous.

Naked 250F:

O/T: I know the grandson of the chap who bought the rights to the 250F. He took trucks to Modena to collect all Maserati's stock and made 9 more, one of which is in Fangio's museum in Argentina. They run on proper papers, one of them (#7 IIRC) was at the Silverstone Classic. The 250F builder wrote an autobiography (unpublished as yet) before he passed away - I've only heard snippets of his life story but he was quite a guy, ex WWII fighter ace - 'the right stuff'! smile

What a dork indeed. I was about to loose my temper on him: talking to me if I was his little kid, what was he thinking! C'mon and take responsibillities for your business man! He had to take action when we came in and not when we checked out . . . if there was a reason. IMO the only reason was him not organising his own full house. That's not our thingy . . . Good for you and me not to set foot in that place ever again.

Thanks to the circumstances - leaving and not want to miss one rev, two mates - I kept my cool and paid our bill. Things like this make me flip and turn like a leave: from mr nice guy to mobster with a torture habit.

Anyways: on with the show!

Melse Porsche on fridays qualifying: sideways business as usual.

The little Lotus Elans are so the agile . . . and quick! As this P20 3:06 cracker of a now hardtopped convertible shows.

A superb 55th final for this Mini Cooper. I find it hard to believe to do a proper endurance in these little cars . . . but then when you're on a budget and like to have fun and come in midfield I guess it makes sense.

I'm currently doing an article about the DP214. Will post soon.

Big Yank saloons always put up a fair show. This Ford Falcon was a bit unlucky in the 6 hours race and managed a 98th final after just 60 mins of racing.

Belgium Shelby 350GT entry got to 65th. I'll ask Jos what happend.

Lovely 904 Porsche did a best 3:17 . . . Mmmmmh.

From the Stavelot Museum - well worth a cycle out to (did the old track on the way back - enlightening!!!!!!).
Did you get your knee down through the Masta curve?
I was going the wrong way!

You can see how the lap record was over 160mph back in 1970 - Jesus - Flat chat downhill for miles!

I had quite a good lead considering my gearbox jammed!!

Slight correction for the Blue TR4 No 72,it has done the six hour before,it used to belong to Neil Howe. In 2005? the car caught fire putting it out of the race for a while,we [CMS] got it cleaned up,repaired and back out again before Neil had time to dry his eye's! LoL.

Albert,I'll keep you informed on any "Housing Developements" around the Spa area for next year. I do appologise for the way things worked out though, never known him to behave in such a stupid way before.
