Never used a Holley so can't comment. When I had to use a 38DGAS I did a little work to it, boring chokes from 27mm to 32.5, and throttles to 40mm and hung sec. venturis from one side. Also chopped the top off to make a nicely flowed intake...

For ultimate top end power I used a single 48 IDA, (also known as the 'Jug' in Group 1 days) bored out to 50mm and turned up some better trumpets, this set up with an engine to match flowed so much air I used '330' Alcohol main jets...

Loving the 3.0 pics 'Neutral', will have to see if I can find some more.

Proper job thumbup the often slated stock inlet manifold with its flow distribution offset could often be improved greatly as Im sure your well aware, the pre 71ish 128hp motor had the slightly larger 40 DFAV carb but looks like you have that covered with your modded 38 wink the Holley metered fuel like a hose and a bucket with smaller displacement engine's like the Essex, Rover V8 bigger US V8's are not so fussy in that respect scratchchin Weber could show Holley a them a thing or two it that department back then although in later years Holley become a far better carb

Torquay 1977.

A very scarce Onyx green Face Lift 3000GT, with 2 Kawasaki H2 750 triples.
What a wonderful picture. The Green looks fantastic and in my opinion is only bettered by the Yellow and Metallic Blue. The bikes are also just fantastic. You can see why these Capris and Kawasaki H2’s are quite rightly incredibly sought after now.

Sorry for dredging up an old post but I thought you might like to see what showed up at Castle Coombe a week or so back. Being given a shakedown by none other than Jeremy Walton.

Proper car with a great history! Driven in period by HRH Prince Michael of Kent, Barry Sheena, Tom Walkinshaw and many more.

Date of photo unknown, but this one appears to be a 3 Litre GXL with most likely a V-8 conversion.
Note the cut away rear arches, huge rear wheels and “ Thrush “ side pipes.

I recall the name Reynolds Ford, but never went to any of their branches. I think they closed down in the 1980s.

I have a book about the Capri from Jeremy Walton at the time he was the expert on all Capri info , I think he used to work for Ford and got to race them at quite a high level then became a journalist ?

I had 2 of his Capri books, they disappeared in Divorce, I must replace them, have you a photo of it ?
Pretty sure he was already a Journo by 1972. He was one of the 32 drivers in 16 identical new black 3000E Capris in the May 1972 Brands Hatch FordSports day races. Racking my brain who he shared a car with.
There is a photo of this race in one of his books. It was reading this, that I decided to track down and buy, any of the survivors ( just one car has survived )

I used to have a copy of this one years ago, to go along with Vol 1 (Cortina) & Vol 2 (Escort) which were both by Graham Robson. Lent it to someone local in AVO OC when they bought a RS3100, and never got it back rolleyes
