I am guessing that this would have been posted already?

i believe these cars are siezed over debt (in the UAE?) and they get dirty very quickly
everything in the UAE get's covered in sand dust very quickly, I've seen sandstorms worse than thick fog on the road between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, then there will be a random camel crossing the road, not good!

Would love to know the story behind this.

Looks like a late S4S to me (last of the 4 cylinder turbo’s) and some say the best of the bunch.

Bespoke OZ splits are worth a grand every day of the week.

Problem is Esprit's suffer far worse than most from being stood, tanks and radiators quickly rust out and the EFI and turbo systems suffer badly from lack of use.

Real shame.

Hasn't the Esprit been on here before? I think it belongs to Hewland who used it as a development car...

Yep.

They are wonderful cars, but don't like neglect.

My 1987 Turbo took me to Le Mans and back without missing a beat, but it soon started complaining if you left it for a month.

And mine lived in a heated garage with a battery conditioner.

Awful to see one in such a state.

Note the bonnet stay. Typical over-engineering.

East Rudham, Norfolk. No idea if it's still there, might be able to find out if anyone's interested.

Went up there yesterday, it's now gone.

Makes you wonder how it ended up as rusty as that and as bent. I thought these things trundled round the taxiways at about 20mph!

You get some fantasticly strange looking motors at airports ... fascinating.

It was crushed and bent by a bulldozer when it was moved a few days ago.

I am currently restoring one of the very few surviving Olympic Mini Vans. They were actually Spanish-built Authi's, and Olympic Airways bought 44 of them in the early 70's.

Mine is a 1963 Electricity Board mini van, I'm just hoping to get time/space to restore it before I run out of years.

We also have a 63 smooth roof mini van to resotre its showing less then 20,000 miles on the clock before the engine was removed after the magic wand gear leaver standard to play up dad brought it as a restoration project about 10 years ago got lots of bits ready for it it still has the orignal 850 engine the plan is to either resotre it to be a replica of a Downton works van or as a promotonal tool for our family joinery business

On a walk today Peak District (no camera) stumbled past a Jag XJ 4200 I believe it was an early 70's age colour was like a darkish ruby red.

This car was parked on the drive of a semi detached house it really had not moved in decades. I've not seen rust like that on a car before sadly I'd suggest beyond hope.

It's a smooth roof one with the air vent, but it's totally in bits so not enough of it exists anymore to take a proper photo! I have some pics from when it was green, then red with white roof (in race spec with daft 1380 Bryan Slark engine), will have a dig around in my truprint albums and scan some in.

I found a bit of a graveyard at the weekend... I do urbexing as a hobby (exploring abondoned places if you wondered wink ) and round the back of this old manor house were 16-17 cars, slowly rotting. Some pics:

Dolomite must have been parked there about 20 yrs due to the positioning on a pretty big tree right behind it!

Must have been 7 Jags in total around the place!

And there were 3 minis as well!
