The current price on that is just mental, compared for example to this which certainly WOULD be back on the road for a weekend's work: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251210271462?ssPageName=...

Some bloke has half a dozen Skoda Rapides rotting away in his front garden in Shoreham. Best place for 'em I say.
Drove past that pile on the coast road the other day... Not sure whether the provailing winds and salt spray have accelerated the degredation or whether that is normal....andyps said:

Ah yes, chassis no: DB4GT/0184/R, sorry
I'm not an AM expert. Is that kosher, a "sanction" car or a replica? Whatever, I wouldn't chuck it out of bed.LordBretSinclair said:
It's kosher - This car was the only Zagato to be the subject of a full road test by Autocar magazine. 0184 was sold to Dunlop for experimental work testing tyres and brakes and of course was fitted with Dunlop disc brakes. During this time the car was used heavily before being sold into private hands in 1967.
Ta. Memo to self - must set up tyre/brake testing facility and circulate to performance car industry my availability. There appear to be benefits.LordBretSinclair said:

What's that £4000000 these days?
Quite possibly - last May a 1991 Sanction II Chassis no. 0198/R sold for £1.25mFiskens recently sold 0184/R for an undisclosed amount (anyone know how much?)
I have re-read the (brilliant) article and they estimate value of DB4GT Zagato ("price now") to be c. £6,000,000 (price new was £5,469 - 20 made including replacement for chassis 2 VEV).
4359 ML is ex Sir Anthony Bamford - but I am not sure if he owned it prior to Fiskens sale?

I'm puzzled because as at 2007 according to the last AMOC register that car was owned by Peter Livanos. More info here Fiskens information

Recently spotted, local to me and under a cover - a VDP which looks as if it has a 'K' series engine fitted. Is that a popular conversion? Could that give it a 5 speed box?
Not seen any K series conversions myself. The Australians used the E series from the Maxi in their Nomad.Morris Nomad by philipj.simpson, on Flickr
