That's a high price indeed I was expecting £5k being honest though I've never shown any interest in it specifically. Surely with this example knowing its potential vale surely an offer of what £2.5k would be a nice offer to the owner
The cheapest in the PH classified is this at £23k - http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use...And the most expensive is this at £45k but it has only done 300km in total - http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use...
Good luck with an offer of £2.5k

This is the fella, iirc, that was making similar offers to the family of the deceased owner of a Lotus Carlton a short while ago. And the most expensive is this at £45k but it has only done 300km in total - http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use...

Those Invacars were about as unstable as an American with a load of assault rifles. In my youth a woman lost control and careered down the hill into a hedge. My friend took her home and I was left to drive that monstrocity back to her house. The tiller steering, the lack of power, and it made a Reliant Robin look the epitome of good handling. 2-stroke 200cc motor and loads of smoke. Still, I guess that in the day it was a damn site better than nothing.
I remember years ago a TV programme ( Tonight or similar ) when there had been a safety issue with the things and they had Graham Hill doing a test drive in one of them . He drove it about 100 yards ( not meters then! ) and got out saying it was a death trap and he would not drive it any further. He really looked shocked !

the spacwagon
Lady up our road had one of those back in the day, that was also known as the spacmobile!
Do I remember right, you had to open the bonnet & kick start them?

NB:- I'm also imagining the boss at Invacar, whose just about to sign off the project and noting the kickstart.... pressing the intercom, "Deidre.... tell Simkins from the drawing office to come and see me."
Driving through darkest Devon yesterday, I went past this place. I have passed once before and the collection of wrecks seem to grow each time; some vehicles appear to go there for attention and actually leave! I didn't take a photograph yesterday but this is the Streetview from 2008; the TR2/3 is still there in the same (or worse) state of disrepair. The mininbus has been moved to sit with two others in similar condition away from the canaopy. There were at least two semi dismanlted Stags where the minibus was positioned. I think the TR6(?) was still there.
I will try to get a photograph when I am back in the area in two or three weeks.
