The number of cars you see at breakers etc left with window's down etc and not covered from the elements means the interiors get wrecked in no time. Surely ALL parts of a car have SOME monetary value ...

That car is at douglas valley breakers: they have some more images on their website including the rear. It is indeed a strange way to handle something which still has some monetary value.
That website makes sad viewing. Wonder what happened to those in this:

I also saw a Austin Healey 3000 with an hardtop for sale at that place a few months ago which was advertised on a classiccar site; apparently the front was smashed in. Not sure if it was beyond recovery/repair but the asking price for it, about £32,000, was just ridiculous for something in that condition. I couldn't believe an Austin Healey 3000 would end up there, and more surprisingly, practically on my doorstep as I live only a few miles away there.

They buy anything sporty or unusual, think they are trying to corner the market!

Then they sell very high - but if its the only bit around......

It usually isn't though. They tend to have stock for a VERY long time.

Used to park on my in-laws street, bodywork wasn't perfect but it's a bona fide Alpina.

A pleasantly short registration number, too! What a waste!

Hopefully not, it's looking pretty rusty and a window has been left open all winter though.

Very true. Says a lot really the way an owner takes care ad pride of their own home

30years why not get £200 for scrap? Instead of making your house look like a place

I see a sad story. A dream not realised. The condition of the house confirms the owners likely status.

I wonder if there is corresponding damage on the Capri related to the brick pillar at the end of the drive?

To be honest it looks like the brick pillar was built after the car was parked up,this car has been standing a long long time, maybe not quite 30 years but im pretty sure its been there scince the mid 80s at least. Its quite local to me and ive kept a regular eye on it for the last 10 years, ive never been brave enough to have a close look around it cos by the looks of the house i dont think id be very welcome, shame really cos id love to see when the tax ran out and gaze in wonder at the deterioration it has suffered,i know its sad but id rather look round this one than look at one in mint condition.
