From memory it could be RMJ432J,dont think its a 3 litre due to rear panel not being black or having anodised trim around lights.

Not all the 3 litres had the black back panel and the ally trim round the lights was 3000E standard but not fitted to the 3.0GT by Ford.

It usually isn't though. They tend to have stock for a VERY long time.
They persistently ask for about double what their stock is worth; their turnover must be so poor the place isn't even much use for money laundering.

I’ve used them a couple of times for Ferrari and Lotus parts when there has been absolutely no alternative. Either the parts are obsolete or dealer costs are astronomical.

It does appear that’s their business model, to be a supplier of last resort and price accordingly.

It doesn’t lead to happy customers, but must be must be profitable as some of the parts prices I’ve been quoted can’t be far off what they paid for the whole car at a salvage auction.

Must be Aberdeen then? I would love to see it - there's not much like an old 7 series!

ETA: it turns out that I have seen it before!

Used to park on my in-laws street, bodywork wasn't perfect but it's a bona fide Alpina.
Not sure whether this is an Alpina (has all the correct badges etc, but I know copies are available + lpg conversion)?

I was once talking to a guy in a West London pub when he said he was was fan of Iso Leles/ Grifos etc. I told him that there was a very interesting car under a tarpaulin in the front garden of a house near Watford station. I had lifted up the rear of the tarp a few days earlier. The car had Swiss number plates , was silver and the boot badge said " OSI ". It was obviously something quite exotic. He immediately asked me to draw a map and took my phone number. He then went out into the Shepherds Bush Road and disappeared off into the night having summoned a cab. A few hours later I got phone calls every twenty minutes or so, until eventually he found the bloody thing, got the owner out of bed, did a deal and had it transported away. It was a very rare Grifo once owned by Peter Sellars. The then owner had put the boot badge on back to front. I got two dozen bottles of Chrystal champagne for my help. And all because I asked a chap for a light for my
Montecristo.

No pics, I'm afraid but I was training up some Portuguese coppers last week just outside Lisbon and their garage was full (perhaps 30 or so) of Lancias all with "INOP" (as in Inoperative) badges on the roof. They were big 4 door barges, most 2.0 litre motors, but they were all going off to the cruchers, despite being in reasonable condition. The rest of the cars there were more modern, with the exception of a few 3.0 V6 Citoen XMs, interesting fleet choice though.

Great story
That really is a cracking story. My dad once passed a vintage 3 Litre lagonda carting hay about in a field in the late fifties. My dad was doing his apprenticeship in the Faversham dockyards at the time and didn't have much money. He did however enquire in the local pub about who owned it and the landlord said the local farmer who usually gets to the pub about 7pm.

My dad waited for him to arrive and asked him how much he wanted for it, the farmer said £60. My father said no and but offered £50. The farmer couldn't agree so my dad came back the next evening and offered him £55 and they shook. The farmer asked his farmhands to go back to the farm, pump up the tyres and put a gallon of fuel in. When they got back with the car my dad handed over £55 and drove off home in the dark with a 1929 3 litre Lagonda with no lights or reverse gear and only 1 seat. And here it is....back in the day...

You could have the XLR but you did not have to have the black sills and rear light surround scratchchin back then you could order pretty much what you wanted i.e black bonnet or no black bonnet wink;)
