Possibly not quite a classic yet, but 20 years young next year, although it certainly doesn't act like it with its little bits of 'love, care and attention wink ', its running very well indeed...

New toy, stablemate for the Austin 7. People on the watch forum like to get a birth year watch,so I reckon a birthyear TR4 is in order. 1961 ex LHD USA,overdrive but no Surrey. Seems to have aquired some 4A sidelights in the past 51 years and a 4A grille. Still it would be no good if there was nothing to do/improve...

Proper engine bay resto as well , so many people get that wrong , use modern clips , fixings etc Top job ! , saw a nice red TR6 near Yoevil this morning , looked very clean as well

I don't think it's the same, I think they used the Essex V4 for the conversions.

Got it from ACA? Looked good

I can't remember the last time I saw an S2 avant, and ABY (and AAN) are wonderful things, so it's a classic in my book. Your WR always looks good too, I have one of your pics as wallpaper on my screen at home (to remind me what mine looks like).

Didn't realise that, what on mid '60s TRs or classic cars in general? Those in my '58 Aston are copper.

Usually when you replace them you use the copper alloy. Its not pure copper thats too brittle. Remember a lot of these cars are just single hydraulic circuit so trading some originality for not losing all you brakines due to corrosion seems fair to a lot of owners. Our MGB is alloy now, went on in the 80s, so far so good.

It's interesting you say that. I've always been a bit concerned at the use of Table W copper in 8mm for fuel lines for that reason.

Pure copper can crack when it flexes.

Kunifer or Cupro Nickel now widely used.

RichB - your original brake pipes have obviously been replaced at some time between 1958 and now, hardly surprising really smile

thumbup that's what you call using a classic

left hand drive in Japan, different

you might save you roof material the additional stress if you treated yourself to a copy of the Driver's Handbook as it 'll show how to fold the roof and much more useful info - but not how to carry so much stuff as that smile
