My 1998 Cooper Sport LE - lacking in decals, but just back from a rather major overhaul which included new wings and front panel, new front floors, new sills, repairs to rear quarters and a new rear subframe.

Enjoying the sun at Brands Hatch yesterday.

That look's mint. A friend bought a late 90's Mini at car auction for £1500 the amount of rot on it was incredible.

Incredible that over 35 years since it launched they were still building them the same

Cheers smile

If anything the late Rover cars were worse than the early ones. Mine has just had new front wings, front panel, sills both sides, front floors both sides, repairs to the rear quarters, and a new rear subframe.

20 years old this year!

No Modifications apart from a stereo fitted in the late 90's by the first owner.

Still has a working Minidisc player wink

I do love the Mk 2, they are a cracking looking car, never mind the pop up headlights etc.And that looks a top example. Nice one.

Hi CdG – it’s my Jaguar SS100 – picture taken at Stanford Hall about 10 years ago.
It was the JDC national show – just going for a quick spin before parking it up with the others – didn’t end up in the pond!
My father kindly brought it to the show on a trailer for me (just visible in bottom of picture) as the carbs were running a bit “fluffy”.
Me driving with Mrs Plinth’s eldest son as navigator – big field at Stanford – easy to get lost laugh

Looks stunning, needs a set of period correct pre 2001 numberplates to really set it off.

When the reg numbers changed from a "Y" suffix to the current format in 2001 the font changed as well becoming much narrower, the Carlton should have the older style, like this.

Jepsons still make them

When I bought my 944 a few years ago - it had a set of the condensed font plates on it, with the Carrs of Exeter Porsche details on it - I got a place to replicate them exactly but change the font to the pre-2001 one - with the squarer characters. As it would have had new.

Except it was a Dick Lovett, Swindon car originally - MW reg ... ! Doh!
