Discretion at its finest - v noice!
And regardless of what it says on the truck, this is not Sydney’s Finest - certainly not my finest (two) hours(s) sat waiting...
One of the collars at either end of the selector rod has given up and currently stuck in third gear - it drives but not willing to risk across the city in Sunday afternoon traffic - going into the mechanics tomorrow. Not noice...

Clutch master cylinder a few years back. And a great XJ-S owning recovery lady.
ETA amazed you got it on forwards.

Trouble is, I now feel like I need another car that you can play in and actually "drive" places - lots of head scratching over Scimitars, Jensen Healeys, Fiat 124s, Volvo Pvs, MX5 powered Super Minxs and V6 Corsairs... will I never learn...
I know what you mean. I have a bog stock Commer van and whilst it's super handy and I love driving it, it's impractical. I have a feeling your dodge will be best served by changing the diff or if possible the diff ratio. The slant 6 should be able to move it unlike the 1725cc engine I have in mine. My diff is 5.6:1 and it still struggles up hills.
The Dodge needs a couple of jobs doing before I make it go any faster - the steering box is a tad wobbly at the best of times, and speeds are kept down by a complete lack of any sound insulation and, being sat on top of the engine, it gets a little noisy in there. Nothing a few weekends work can't sort. A mate has an A100 van with a 318 V8 (5.2l) - that solves the problem.

Went on forwards with barely a scrape of the plastic chin strap. Do now have the joy of getting it to Uncle Bruce's in third, but its only a couple of km and torque will out! If it had been stuck in second I'd have driven home - would've been a bit noisy getting back through the tunnels from Brighton . But, in third, through the usual Sunday traffic past the airport and on to the Beaches? Nope.
The old girl out today, having a break after an hour or so exploring local-ish lanes, very enjoyable. Going to start refurbishing the smaller components this year in preparation for what will likely turn into a complete restoration this winter. Next year will see her fresh for another 50+ years of service.

If it helps, I spent a fortune on dynamatting the engine bay and engine lid and it did sweet fk all to the racket it makes. HTH.
Found a huge gap between the "doghouse" (engine cover) and the floor so it's no wonder so much racket was coming in. For now, stuffed some house insulation between the doghouse and the cab back; fitted new window rubbers/bolted up some loose bits/added various bits of draughtproofing tape between panels and it's actually quite bearable... a headlining and some floor mat should also help. Managed over two hundred miles to a show on Good Friday, well worth it even if we did need a shove out of the mud... Nik da Greek said:
I love that '67. Looks like a great post-apocalypse car
.....except the 8mpg of course
Haha, the funny part is the '67 had a misfire and oil burn issue which gave it a whopping 7mpg.... I've since fixed it and gotten it to a healthy 17mpg. Also, thank you for the post apocalyptic comment - it is my Mad Max car And I use it for everything......except the 8mpg of course
- EDIT*
