Ringo the Leatle Beatle.A closer pic below. It now has new headlamps so I can see and be seen better at night/dusk. The fuse box is a mess though, nothing is in the right place. Fuel gauge and speedo illumination are the most pressing things to fix.
It drives very nicely after static timing, points and a fuel filter replacement. It had a bit of a cough before.
I collected it from Nottingham a month ago and drove to South Oxon in awful rain at night with headlamps like candles in jam jars and Google maps for a speedo in the dark. 100 miles between fuel stops to be safe. It took 6 hours. Twice what it should have! The wing mirror fell off in Leicester. Not my safest drive overall.
It didn't exactly endear itself to me that day but I spent some time on it a few days ago and I am starting to like it!

Would be nice to see some pictures on here as the work progresses.Engine is currently being rebuilt also. A complete new wiring loom is in production and other components are being refurbished, but the body is getting close now.

That’s looking great. I do love these cars. I found myself looking at a coupe last week that had just been released from a Jaguar collection. But deep down I know if I ever bought another one I would strip it down and rebuild it to my spec. Just wanted to share with you a 'before' pic of the latest restoration! Here we have a Ford F350 Crew Cab which is a special order vehicle built in Canada for the US military. Together with the missile, which we believe to be a Martel AS-37.
It is another 'retirement project' being undertaken with a good friend - of going on 50 years! - on his driveway inside a party marquee.
Not quite a body off job it is nevertheless a pretty comprehensive restoration. We have already rebuilt the 'Windsor' engine and refitted it to the chassis and the restored panels are being refitted as they are completed.
The missile is going to be a project in its own right and a recent visit to Cosford was a helpful start to our research.
But, here's the thing PH'ers........... We do need your help. Do we have an expert in the house who might know about US bases in the UK and Europe during the cold war era?
Once I can be more specific I'd like to post again in the 'Boats & Planes' section to try again.
All information gratefully received.
