A quick interlude in the Triumph-fest. wink

A ray of colour on a dreary Storm Dennis day. smile

That's cool - reminds me of a monochrome pic that someone's highlighted one bit.

Was there a Pork 959 at that meet - thought I saw a pic on Twitter over the weekend.

Fairly timeless picture of my old Seven.

Actually only taken a couple of years ago.

Rather regret selling that one.

yes Classics & Cake at Duke of London. There were many interesting cars there, despite the weather: 959, McLaren P1 GTR, plenty of lovely Alfas and even an old Holden Commodore.

Some good pictures here (look for the most recent).

One of the very best regular classic car meets. Fantastic (and varied) cars, great people and plenty of dogs too.

Nice cars, dogs and cake - what more could you want?

I love a TR6. Had loads over the years.

My current hot engine project
What size front ARB are you running there? I just had a 1” fitted (I already have an ARB at the back) and I think it’s made the car a bit too twitchy to be relaxing.
It’s a std bar. Not going ARB up back.

What tyres do you guys use ? Manufacturer/size
These are tyres I’ve had on the rims for ages that I threw on. Cinturatos. 215/50/15

I think I’m going to go back to standard, but quite happy with the rear ARB - that’s been a success.

Getting the right size/spec tyres for these seems to be getting a bit trickier. I've got Good Year Efficient Grip 195/65s on my standard rims at the mo. TBH it still looks a bit under-tyred to my eyes. The original 165/80 (or whatever it was) look weedy, but some people swear they give the best handling.

Yeah I've heard that and that's why I'm asking - would it be sacrilage to get a tyre with a thin whitewall ? I had a midnight blue E-type with Dunlop whitewalls a long time ago and it looked the dog's bks IMO

I think the E-type is a bit more 'showy' so you'd get away with it, in fact I can imagine it looks great. The TR6 guys in the US seek tyres with red lines on them, which suit the car much better IMO. Don't know if you can get those here.

I think you should fit white bands if you want and to hell with sacrilege.
Cars look great with them but they weren’t standard in the UK.
They were very popular in the US and if you look at a few old YouTubes of london motorshows of the era, a lot of show cars appeared with them so it’s not like manufacturers considered them the devils work.

The hard part is finding good quality white bands in the size you want.

your MG is absolutely stunning , can you give some more information on her
Hi,

It’s a car me and my dad built over 5 years. Based on a TC chassis with a supercharged x pag engine. The body is all aluminium and a completely bespoke boat tail design. It was a lot of work!

Yes, running a 305ci ford flathead V8, can be quite scary.

I love a thin band whitewall. Always have.

I had a V12 E which I sold a few years ago which still had the original Dunlops.
This it the very best a V12 E can look IMO

I would not argue with that.
