Nice to hear it gets driven, I worry that they might be quite fragile cars being a mix of Italian and French engineering.

Believe it or not I get stopped quite often with the 205 in petrol stations by people, who had one, want one, is it for sale etc etc..

Some may not call it a classic yet, but I've had many cases where we've been out in it (mum/dad driving obviously) and we come back to find an older bloke having a look at the car. It attracted a lot of attention in & around Plymouth too, lots of hoots and thumbs up, and kind words from other classic owners back at the campsite.

I own some interesting cars - some not expensive but all are rare and in great condition for their age.

I get relatively little attention (in Southern Ireland). Perhaps its because people are used to seeing me in unusual cars but I also feel that the Irish are not real petrolheads - at least not like the British.

Anytime I go there or to Nothern Ireland I am amazed at how much attention my cars get.

Here a 2011 Avensis or Mercedes /BMW etc is where its at. The year on your reg No is all that matters and anything over three years old is only fit for the scrappage scheme.

My wife got very excited when they introduced the scrappage scheme in the UK. Got upset when I told her I thought my old cars were worth more than £2000!

It is weird. I get people looking down their nose at my 02 Passat W8. I like it. going to be a classic one day! Only 168 imported to UK. all i have to do is hang on to it long enough!

I live in a rural area so not alot of notice gets taken of the Landie but the Amazon seems to have got alot of positive attention and people asking me questions about it smile

When out with my neighbour in his vintage cars (1917 Dodge Four and 1911 Sunbeam 16/20) we seem to attract alot of attention and questions.

I recently sold my 1973 Jaguar XJ6 Series 1 ... flashy in Regency Red!

Scruffy cars usually get the most attention. Scruffy = Approachable!
So I get lots of old geezers talking to me at petrol stations recounting all their Jaguar stories!

But during the summertime, when I drive my car down a busy road, I usually get people going out of their way screaming/shouting at me "NICE CAR!!!" and half of them ask me if it is for sale.

The only car I've been in which gets more attention is the Daimler DS420 ... mind you this is in Vancouver, and sitting in the backseat with the rear curtains drawn, but the door window down... it really gets people thinking who is sitting in the backseat!! Most people go about in quiet voices mumbling that it's a Rolls Royce or a Bentley. (There are only about half a dozen DS420's running around in Canada).
