I just had a very pleasant visit from the new owner of FAD 149 [?] .Lee bought the car from Mr Gidney.Apart from a few missing bits it seems very nice.I am not sure that Lee has any idea of what he has let himself in for...

The chassis number should be FAD 143 not FAD 149....

This is an assumption based on the number? With a ford escort this would almost certainly be true, not so with a Facellia.....some never left the factory until they had had two new engines. The "later" car may very well have been sold several months before the "earlier" ! Some cars even had new chassis numbers after being sold and taken back by the factory after engine problems.Read the excellent new facel book.

Invited to a very posh resto near Poitiers today I had the chance to drive my friends Facellia F2 fixed head two seater complete with PAM engine. His pa has a beautiful and very original Facel II manual car in Facel Bleu Irise.[with the monster motor like the ringo car]The facellia was pleasant as I had not driven one since I sold my blue convertable four years ago or more. The engine is, as usual, so noisy that one really does wonder how they sold any at all never mine over 1000.Times and standards have certainly changed.

Anyone spotted the new "MoreThan" car insurance advert on UK television, set in a supposed Italian restaurant with pictures of Fiats, Ferraris etc adorning the walls. Also a Facel Vega - did the props man get it wrong?

If anyone has a "spare" spare wheel for HK500 or facel II I need one for the FV3b.

Does a Silver Grey with Red Interior , Auto , HK 500, registration no HPK 378 ring any bells ? A customer of mine Jeremy , owned this one from aprox 1969 - 73.
He was then based in Sussex. At that time there was another HK 500 locally and also an Excellence. He's pretty sure he bought it from HWM.
He fondly recalls a trip to Paris in it with his Wife to an upmarket wedding. Lost in Gay Pareee they went around the Arc 8 odd times. The French he recalls were besotted with the thing. The Garage local to their Hotel insisted on fitting 2 new rear tyres to it completely free !!
When he went to collect her, they had Also filled her up with petrol, again foc !

Jeremy sold her to a Hotel owner on the Sussex coast. Be great to know if she has survived.
As I live in france, can you please let me have the address of this kind garage in Paris? I am always out and about on old bangers and would appreciate free fill ups with petrol.Come to think about it the Bugatti needs some new tyres....
This is my brothers car,Kerry Berrisford,he's had it for years, around 1971 i would think, its under full restoration at the moment, and should be ready soon!we hope,

Not sure if it's been mentioned before as this thread is rather long. But I got stuck in a traffic jam yesterday and glancing to my right I was astounded to see a silver HK500. There was a green Hillman Imp in front of it minus engine and boot lid. Was so amazed that by the time I thought about taking a pic the traffic had moved on. Someone did tell me years ago that the owners club was based nearby.

This rather pretty Facel II has sneaked into the UK under the radar ! It is in fine shape, originally sold in Italy.Manual gearbox. It is taxed and tested and seems to have been in england for three years. It is registered as silver !I must say that it looks black to me.
