My Labrador once ate one, and it was waddling round for ages trying to clear it. Didnt seem harmed though...

another NO here

Especially for a staffy, its windpipe is around the same diameter.

It may swallow it whole, killing it as it chokes on it.

A few years back, my mates mum threw a tennis ball for her beloved Border Collie, and then watched in horror as the poor thing choked to death right there in front of her in the middle of the park

It took her ages to get over it.

So I'd say a golf ball is a definite NO NO.

Sorry mate I don't find it funny at all. I'm still not over my dog getting attacked and that was over a month ago and he lived.

Sorry GazBoy, don't get me wrong....Could be the beer talking.

I love doggies, hence this post, but i think it the use of the word 'beloved' that got me. We all love our dogs, but beloved sounded like a eulogy

I have been attacked by a pack of doggies,(well three of them) and i didn't fair too well, but it hasn't stopped me loving dogs.

Used to walk my dog along woods next to a golf course, he would find his own golf balls to play with. Not the best idea though, could probably break teeth too if thrown.

In some of the old golf balls there is about 20 miles of elastic band type stuff....and the liquid centre is posionous I think [?]...

plus the choking and tooth breaking....

Not a good toy for a pup at all

Oh for s sake....

look what i've started.

I have loved all my dogs too, ok? I am not encouraging the choking of dogs. It was a spur of the moment thing, I was playing with the dog cos he was bored, and I tossed him a golf ball i found in my pocket as i was leaving..it wasn't an act of dog murder.

I phoned the owner as soon as the first person posted back.

Well the main thing is the pooch is okay! I cannot wait to get another dog, just not practical at the moment with me and wifey out at work all day, wouldn't be fair on the dog.
