Local company to me is Dedmans.; Estate agency, letting, Warehousing and Logistics. Coming to work one morning when a funeral procession crept past the junction.Wedged in the middle (with a red faced driver at the wheel ) was a Luton Van sign written 'Dedman's Transport'.

I'm not making out anything, I would have found it mildly amusing if the lift company had made a play on words from the film, but I seem to remember Schindler Lifts long before the film was made. Maybe Spielberg was having a joke when he named the film.

Given that the Schindler company was created in the late 19th Century you should really be saying "Schindlers List, who thought of that title. It's exactly like the lift people".

The book on which the film was based was called Schindlers Ark so perhaps they should have given the film a catchier title. "Raiders of the Lost Death Camp" maybe*.

Falce, the Book (Schindlers Ark, as previously said)the film was produced from was about for many a year before Spielberg made the film - which referred to the list of names Oskar Schindler had produced. First time i noticed the lift maker, made me think of the closeness to the book, and the irony of close name association.
