I need to sell our Aga in order to replace it with something more conventional. The problem is I don't want to agree a price with someone and then find that they lack the skills necessary to dismantle and remove it safely and efficiently whilst they are halfway through.
I'll be letting it go for a silly price so I'm expecting a lot of interest from people telling me that 'they know what they are doing'.........
Its enormous, oil-fed, old but near mint and is bordered by quartz worksurfaces and handmade tiles so an 'accident' is a big no-no.
Anyone know of a professional buyer of Agas...? They're bound to offer less than a private sale but I'm thinking an insured outfit may prove more cost effective in the long run.
Its a cream enamel and black job, with chromed covers. Four oven and a large hotplate and made around 1975. Fully serviced on a regular basis with parts replaced when required......
Any advice welcome.

No problem at all. For you I make special price.....
I'll put a speeder on your cheque and have a few guys dismantle and deliver to you for Tuesday morning.
Hell, I'll even give you FREE delivery !
So now you've commited to your side of the bargain I feel it only fair to indulge you in the trivial matter of the price....
So that'll be a cheque for £10,000, then, ok ?
Or just leave the Lambo on my drive and I'll leave the Aga on yours.....

We "inherited" and oil fired 2-oven Aga when we bought our house in March.
Called some AGA refurbishes and eventually got a guaranteed £700 for it (unseen).
For this they came to the house in Lincolnshire, dismantled the AGA correctly, including removal of the insulation (which can be messy!) and left a nice clean space! They also found out that the Aga had an oil leak but still paid the same anyway.
I think it was [url]Moorland Cookers|http://www.moorlandcookers.co.uk/index.html{/url] although I could be mistaken.
Well worth googling "refurbished" "aga" and spending a bit of time looking for the right deal.

We did the same and I think it was Moorland who bought it. Did a good job and paid us £500 for a small one that was old and tiredCalled some AGA refurbishes and eventually got a guaranteed £700 for it (unseen).

There are lots of companies that deal in recon Agas.
One called Rangeaway will come and dismantle it and remove it and they know what they are doing. So either get them to give you a price or advertise it to anyone one the proviso they use this company to dismantle and remove it, They will give you a fixed price to do that I imagine which you could add to the advert.
Equally just go through your yellow pages and find a CH engineer who services them. They will probably be quite happy to remove it.
Where are you in the UK?
