My wife will be getting 100% pay and her company will claim the 80% from the French government.
For reference she is a school bus driver for a coach and bus transport company.

Thanks...no mad rush to get back then. ☺
I suppose a lot will see it as clawing back some of the high Tax payments they"ve made over the years

After this malarkey I may not go back to work as,for me,there may not be any! Most of my clients are Brits with holiday homes under renovation.

With the virus fall out and Brexit fall out I'm thinking there will be very little work.
I'm off retirement age anyway but wanted to carry on until I'm 67 to have a slightly better French pension along with my uk state pension.
I think I will just have to hang on and see how it pans out.

Think positive.

There are going to be far fewer people doing long-haul and cruising, so a holiday home in France could be just what their wallet wants.

In the big scheme of things, Brexit does not really make much of a difference. Brits bought houses in France way before 1974.

I'm in a similar boat - self employed handyman. I'm lucky to have a few loyal customers and I don't need too much work to top up my police pension to make life pleasant, but it's going to be telling for a lot of folks over the next 6 to 9 months. I've still got 10 years or so before my old age pension kicks in. Fingers crossed!

Lol, reading around it suggests not and they are making a point it's just a qr code so you can check yourself.

5kms from Le Lude, 100m away from Le Loir river, a nice run cross country to your area

Now coming up to day 26 I think?, Hopefully staying another 3-4 weeks, depends on OH's tablet supply, family are all saying stay put if possible.
Mind you, our 5 kids according to our wills, could all agree to sign in one go and sell our home........😨

We had originally planned to stay for a couple of weeks but are now on day 37 and have tentatively booked our return tunnel for the 20th, that looks like it will slide for a tad longer, I don't need to return as my work has totally dried up and my partner works online so she is buying the food we need and I open the wine.

We are loathe to go back to the UK as were not sure when we will be able to return again so are waiting to see what happens in the next week.

This is the longest time we've spent here since buying it 4 years ago and this has proved how right we were on choosing the place.

Roll on the summer, might still be here!

Hey, summer has arrived smile

We would normally have returned to the UK over the Easter period, but we are very glad that we are here. It feels very safe, everyone respects the distances.

While walking round the vines last night, we did see some Gendarmes move-on a bunch of workers, who clearly thought that they could bend the rules a little, but apart from that, everyone in the area seems to be behaving very well.

It does seem odd treating anyone approaching you as if they could be your killer.

Announcement later today by M Macron on a probable extension to the current restrictions?
Another 3 weeks is my guesstimate.

From RR: “ On Thursday morning a motorcyclist was flashed doing 190 km / h on part of the A8 motorway between Nice and Monaco which is limited to 110km/h. Another motorist was caught speeding at 198 km / h and two others were stopped at 7 p.m. driving at 182km/h and 163km/h.”

Lol!

Managed to get out on Wednesday. Nice airport was like a ghost town. Locked out until an hour before departure, there were only three flights that evening, two to Corse, one to LHR. Only about 20 pax on the London flight.

It generates a pdf with a qr code but that means they have a log of your trips

This means they can control the 1 trip a day rule more easily.

if you’re using the old paper method and dont get stopped (20 trips here and i have never been stopped) then ‘theoretically’ you can go out as much as you like until stopped and logged, next day the same would apply, new system means no ‘theoretical’ multi trips within the same day, which is a good thing in my book.

Magoo, sorry to hear your woes matey, lots of plastering here and empty cottages when the situation lifts, if you want it.

Thanks mate that's very kind,I will see how it goes at the end of lockdown.

I don't think there is a one trip a day rule. It's just that you must have a attestation for each trip( meaning you can't use the same one).
Madam Magoo went shopping yesterday morning then we went out to walk the dog in the evening.

I've been nowhere since lockdown apart from dog walking. Absolute bliss!
