i thought of a couple of other things..having just returned.

  • Horseradish. Cream of Horseradish Over Xmas, this was stocked, but could not find it again.
Just look in the spices section for "Crème de Raifort". It's horseradish, quite potent, and very delicious too.

Great news! The fresh Chorizo arrived in our LeClerc this morning.
Yay! I picked up 4 packs of it yesterday. Tonight I shall cook Nigella’a Spanish chicken this evening

A regular favourite of ours, also the Hairy Bikers version is without bones and skin, so less calorific, but with lots of whole roasted garlic

I don’t ever recall eating a Chorizo as a sausage, but as a base for many Iberian dishes, its an essential ingredient.

I buy in bulk when I order from Baconbythebox. 800 gms of vintage is €12. They have a new range of pies too I see, if that interests anyone.
Expect an email requesting your place as a delivery address next time I'm over!

A heads-up: Intermarché currently have chorizo à griller in store and it’s much more chorizo-y and flavoursome than Leclerc’s.

Also Intermarché now also do an own brand extra mature cheddar. Win!

This begs the question as to how Auchan, for example, are still selling cheddar. I assume bacon and sausages are out, but the stupid thing is that one can still order sausages, cheddar, beef, gammon, pork and bacon delivered by Bacon by the Box because they are in Eire.
I bought some 'British Cheddar' from Aldi here in Germany, and noticed it's from Northern Ireland, so that's a bit of a loophole

Not really. It is alright to import meat and dairy products from the UK commercially but not as an individual. All down to elf and safe tea differences now the UK is no longer in Europe.

Think the comment had more to do with NI not being in Great Britain hence not strictly British!

Sorry, I missed that, but it is still part of Brexit and so comes under the same rules. Does seem barmy though, and perhaps they'll get it sorted one of these days.

a little of both, I wonder if it's a lot simpler to export commercially from NI to EU
