Any one used ANTS to exchange their licence
I opened an account
Checked two boxes and was sent a rejection letter.
The two boxs I checked were

Do you have a residence permit with the metion of student I checked NO
Do you have a residence permit with one of the following mentioned. Job search or business creation
Au pair
Working holiday visa
Retirement
Intern
Seasonal
Temporary worker

I checked YES to Retirement What did I do wrong?

Harry, one of the best resources for UK - FR licence exchanges can be found on Facebook

Applying for a French Driving Licence is the group name.

The group owner and font of all knowledge, Kim, is very clued up and connected, she has produced a series of guides which will answer pretty much any question you have, well worth joining.

We used the guides for Mrs RJ's licence which is going through as we speak.

Although I can't recall what we selected for Mrs RJ's application, I do know that selecting Retraite only relates to French DL holders.

Bonne chance!

Recherche d’emploi ou création d’entreprise
Jeune au pair
Visa vacances-travail
Retraité
Stagiaire
Saisonnier
Travailleur temporaire (délivré pour moins de 185 jours)
Oui Non X

Thanks Rushjob. I will try again if that is possible , although the word Retraité does appear on my residence permit.

I've just gone back into the files for the Facebook group and can confirm that whatever your TDS says, if you are not French, then ticking the retraite box will immediately result in your application being rejected and the same has happened to a lot of UK licence holders trying to exchange.

Just start a new application.

Have you got class C/D entitlements?

If so, if you actually passed a test for them, you can keep them but will need to submit a medical form.

If not, they are currently not being included as the grandfather rights are not recognised by France, although this is currently under negotiation.

If you no longer have need of them, it's easier to renounce them ( you need to add a letter to the application ) and just run with the B+E.

Some folks are reporting losing A ( motorcycle ) entitlements so ensure that you have pictures of the front and rear of your UK licence before you eventually send it in.

Thank you very much Rushjob. I will do as you suggested and try a new application
I have just signed up for Facebook but could not find the site you recommended. Do you have to be invited to join ?
I am down grading my motorhome so will not need the HGV classes.
Thanks once again for your help .

You won’t find it until after 10.00 on Tuesday, the group is paused over weekends etc. Definitely worth joining, just make sure that you answer the joining questions when you apply. The amount of information plus Kim’s knowledge of the ANTS system makes it a no brainer. Any problems, drop me a PM.

Thanks for all your help. Will try to join on Tuesday and swat up on the information. As you have probably gathered I am not good with computers and the internet so thanks for the offer to PM.

Harry I assume you have a new withdrawal agreement residence permit? This does include the word 'retrait' but only in the context of UK's retreat from the EU!
