Bonjour.. another migrant joining the fray.

We're based in the Southern Charente Maritime on the borders of the Charente, Dordogne & Gironde.

Would be good to catch up with some like minded types

Any one going to Angouleme 15-17 Sept?

I live just outside Perigueux ( 60 mins drive to Angouleme @ the speed limit) and I hope to go Friday and Sunday. Meet up for lunch and or drive up in convoy?

Hi Jim,

I should be going to Angouleme, just haven't decided on the day/days yet. I'm only down in Bergerac so Perigueux is almost on the way.
By the way, was it your Cobra I saw parked up by the Dordogne a few months ago?

I'm going to try to make it, I fly back from Budapest late on the 14th.... But having been away from home for three weeks might'nt be too popular if I then disappear off to Angouleme for some carn porn!

Keep 'em peeled for a RHD Black E34 M5 running Charente Maritime (17) plates!

Unfortunately, not. Mine is still under renovation in the UK. I am hoping it will be ready in time to take to Angouleme otherwise it's the hire car.

Looks like i'll be heading off to Angouleme on the Sunday (17th) setting off from Bergerac. Anyone else going that day? I will hopefully be in my Black Alfa 155 Q4 or failing that a green Range Rover.

On the 16th I'll hopefully be watching this http://rallycross.free.fr/ at Bergerac-Faux. Went last year and it was great, until the heavens opened. Loads of ex-WRC cars and 1 or 2 205 T16's

We will be in Angouleme for the whole weekend - taking part in the 'tourist rally' on the Saturday in the TVR (for the 8th time) and watching the racing on Sunday.

If you see an old blue TVR in France give us a wave.

Saturday is the Rally and Concourse. In Angouleme you will only see the cars participating in the rally when they finish in the market place around 4pm. You can catch them en-route around the vineyards, the route is published in the local paper and all the locals sit out on the street to cheer and wave us through.

Race day is on Sunday - this is the best day for a spectator. The Bugatti's are quite spectacular + Phil Hooper usually comes up to race in his TVR.

Not sure where is the best place to park as quite a few streets are blocked off to form the circuit.

Depending upon which level of pass you purchase you can get full access to the pits.

It is a fabulous weekend. - hope you enjoy it.

Sounds like Sundays' the day for me then. I guess best bet is to get as close to centre, park up and walk in from there?

Hi to all the PH francais. Well, I don't know about you lot but 72 seemed the Department for me!
Just spotted this Franglais secton of PH. We have a place also in 72 (where else!) and will be moving out permanently next summer

Quite a few PH'ers drop into our place during the 24 heures, so feel welcome next June.

Anyone any tips on decent indies in 16, 17, 33 or 24? M5 showing clutch issues and don't really want to take it to a dealer.... the one on the Rocade in Bordeaux is crap... the one in Angouleme seems alright but based on the reception I got, they don't see too many E34 M5's so wouldn't know how intuitive they are!

Cant get any further South. We were in 34 before but now in 11 ( both with the highest fatalities on the roads), outstanding roads and of course the climate is the best.
TVR's are a real rarity here, so could do with some one else breaking the silence of the early mornings.

Bonjour mon amie. Paris is a little far from me (near the Nogaro race track, Aire sur L'adour, Les Landes) but a PH Francaise meet sounds like a good idea if there are enough people interested.
