Sorry if this is a late reply.
I took my 12yo to Brands hatch for the 3 hour into the night race.
I was impressed with the grid size and the different classes kept us interested throughout.
The amazing finish with the Mosler and Audi R8 means we are planning our next trip.
We normally watch BTCC and I worried that he would be bored by the less hectic racing but we are both were kept entertained.
As someone without any motorsports contacts I'd love to be able to get pit lane access but it didn't seem to be available at brands

Access is usually pretty easy at Britcar and I wasn't aware of any restrictions at Brands, all the garages should have been open although when it's cold the rear shutters do tend to come down simply to stop the wind blowing through. This does make it look a bit inhospitable but it's purely about trying to keep warm.

If you're planning on coming to any races this year then drop me a PM closer to the date and I'll see that your son gets to sit in the drivers seat of the Mosler that won at Brands.

I think half the problem with closed garages, is due to the prat in the vw road car who decided to join in a race.. every time we have a garage, leave the paddock door up for more than 5 mins and some chap in orange will be yelling at you to shut the door. its a real pain when working as you cant just nip through a garage to the paddock in a hurry,

The Classic Sports Car Club has a night race this year also:

Lap time wise Britcar is quicker as they are on slicks but the NM series is pretty dam fast.

Has the added bonus of having me in it! wink
