Off to Brittany in the summer and having missed all the overnight ferry options will be getting the tunnel. Looking to stop overnight in the Friday on the way down, anyone got any recommendations in normandy, ideally an hour from Calais? Needs to have decent parking/somewhere to store bikes as I don't really want to unpack the car for one night.

Ideally near a beach for a bit of a wander the next day before the 4 hours down to the villa, just trying to break up the trip for the kids.

We always stay at Le Coq, Montreuil Sur Mer.

Decent restaurant, secure car park (space limited so book) Great restaurant, and surrounded by the old city walls/park for a wander.

If you don't want to eat in the restaurant the town square has plenty of bars and restaurants.

Another fan of Montreuil here.

Get the SANEF toll tag to smooth the way through the peages.

Just to complete this, stayed here. Had a huge family room, great breakfast and dinner was good. Town itself is interesting, good for a pre dinner wander and the Saturday market well worth an hour mooching.

Lots of bars and coffee stops too. All in all, very happy, thanks all!
