Beachbum you can always keep it to yourself and move on....

I have no idea where they pulled the $1,000,000.00 value from since there is not that much real R$D involved in their kit car Lotus.

I guess if it cost more the fools with that kind of money will step up thinking the price gives it the exclusivity and performance [hype] a $1,000,000.00 supercar comands..

I would gladly sell my car for $150K so if you know anyone in the market let me know....

rofl I never said it wouldn't be fast in a straight line but if you believe the Lotus speedo to be acurate you don't own a Lotus...
Still who buys a Lotus to go straight ? Not me..
I still wanna see if he can run through the twisties with me with that power and no downforce....

Out of interest do you ever take your car to a track? I would imagine both of you would be so overpowered that a drive on public roads couldn't prove much. I'd like to see the true potential of your car but thats never going to be shown by a trip on some public roads.

Not having a go, i imagine your car could and would set some astonishing lap times, but its somewhat frustrating to see someone push an exige to the limits of development, but then never produce some measure of its performance to see exactly how far up the supercar ladder it can punch.
I took it to the track when it was only 290 whp and it was and still is the fastest Lotus at Willow Springs Raceway 4 yrs. later...
I bought a sportscar not a racecar and pushing it to its limit only means you will find it and I have no desire to kill myself or wreck my car.
This is what I believe the Lotus was built for..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmsCGq2bnBs That's 7.5 mi. in 6:43 min. without pushin it....

Making the car completely over powered without useable downforce makes the car a disaster looking for a place to happen. My car is not over powered or unbalanced for the real world...

Hennesey will never come up for a little canyon run because he knows that he screwed up all the best things about a Lotus..If anyone thinks the Hennessey is a "supercar" they should ask to see the Hennessey at the Ring or in the canyons and let the videos tell the truth...

Ok fair enough, i do disagree that getting a representative time out of it means you have to wreak the car or yourself. I guess im not sure of all that power if it is never used, i'd love to see how a truely powerful exige is against the modern supercars of this world as i think its a great chassis, so its frustrating to see someone go to all this work and produce an outstanding machine, only for it to never prove itself.

To be honest a run on public roads in cars this powerful would never prove anything, other than who is willing to break the laws and endanger others the most, a track day with the same driver driving both cars however would prove everything, and with the laptimes you car would likely produce would make a few people sit up and take notice.
If I wanted a track I would have bought a Radical but I bought a sportscar..... I see these so called supercars every weekend here in So. Cal. and I have never seen one driven as hard as the average Miata in the canyons... They are only "super" in cost of ownership.... Because a manufacture can make a mega power mega buck car and take it to the "RING" with a pro driver to post a staggering lap time the owner will never be able to achieve is a joke. The owners of these cars would never put them selves or their cars at risk.. Going straight to 200 mph is a joke...As much as it is going 193mph in an Exige when all you can think about is how far your head will travel down the road when the car disintegrates...

I'd like to see Hennessey to take his Lotus to Willow Springs raceway and post a "real" lap time since it is a track designed for high horsepower..... He won't..

The Hennessey would wreck its self in the canyons....

Introducing the Venom GT Spyder
Texas Supercar Goes Topless for 2013

SEALY, TEXAS - Hennessey Performance (HPE) will offer it's ultra lightweight supercar with a removable roof. Dubbed the Venom GT Spyder, Hennessey's 1200 horsepower, 1200 kilo, mid-engine monster will offer an extra dose of wind and sound when driven without the top.

"With the hardtop in place, the Venom GT offers a very visceral, raw, driving experience", says company CEO, Don Goldman. "With the hardtop removed, the wind and the growl of the twin turbo V8 will offer our clients an even greater driving sensation."

HPE will build just five Venom GTs for the 2013 model year, two of which have already been ordered. Deliveries will begin in the summer of 2012. Clients can purchase either model: the Venom GT - with a fixed hardtop roof, or the Venom GT Spyder - with the new removable top. Base pricing for the Venom GT is $950,000. The Venom GT Spyder is priced at $1.1 million.

"We are excited to be able to offer an open-air American supercar, built in Texas, that provides the best power to weight ratio available on the market," says company founder, John Hennessey. "Simply put, the Venom GT Spyder is defined by its simplicity, elegance, performance and - for a lucky few - a driving experience like nothing else on Earth."

That's right step up and pay an additional $150,000.00 for a removable top that was always removable....
