not a bad sound, sounds like a proper little sports car with V6, maybe Ferrari will now bring out a reborn 246 GT Dino to put it up against biggrin

to make the roof a bit more interesting maybe they can make it a bit more curved? with a double hump roof or 2 nice teardrop looking gurneys

Funnily enough this came to mind the other evening as I was driving home. I'd love to see what Ferrari could come up with, given the same brief but maybe a slightly higher budget and a naturally aspirated engine, rather than forced induction. Say a 3.0L V6 revving to 9,000rpm. Lovely prospect.

Regarding roof, I must confess I didn't discuss the intricacies of the new car's roof, beyond the chap I was talking to saying that the S2 Exige roof would be a direct swap for that of the new V6. Apologies if I was a little ambiguous. Personally I'm grateful to the scoop on the S1 to keep engine bay temperatures down. My car had additional scoops fitted to the engine cover and the rear clam drilled with the number plate mounted on aluminium brackets to try to direct more heat away from the engine. These will obviously only work with a bit of air flowing over the car but even driven fairly briskly on road or track, it only really strays above 82deg when stationary for long periods. Whether you could use the scoop to direct air into the cabin instead is an intriguing one and certainly for a car used a lot on track might be beneficial...

Been away for a week and couldn't make JCT600. Bloody work. Just been catching up. The black one that is on the updated pics and video looks fantastic and really suits the car. Its going to be a colour sensitive car i think. Shame its not going to be done in Isotope green. Watching above piece of film it still looks toy like in its proportions. It will definately feel small as the interior is the same as the S2. Which I like. Front end looks good imo.

Heineken moment:

Drove friends M5 to petrol station with Gorillas very loud on stereo, parked up, got out of car, white V6 Exige drives past (sounds awsome), meet absolute honey then drive home...nice.

the road the Exige was on is straight for 1/4 mile then there is an left hander which can be taken at about 85 staying in lane. No other cars on road so could here Exige very well, sounds great.

And about 200kg more than the S2 Exige. Thorburn, can you put the SELOC petrol pump pics on here. They give a good insight to the size of the car. It still looks like a toy, bobo.

Thanks Thorburn.

That rear spoiler is shocking. Its not wide enough to hang anywhere near the width of the car. It looks like an after thought designed by a student. The no plate is poor as well. Don't mean to be negative but they are the only 2 flies in an otherwise clear ointment. But they are cow flies.

Yeah, spoiler might look better if it was a little bit wider.

At least it raises with the boot again though, unlike the MY10 one which just stopped anyone short being able to get stuff in and out wink

if it did look like i toy (in the real) i wouldn't be considering dropping that kind of money on it .... i can assure you i don't have that much of a sense of humour !

i have sat in that actual car, so give me the benefit of the doubt here .... if you have seen the car in the plastic then fair enough I agree its a matter of opinion, subjective ect.

if you haven't, and with the greatest of respect, what you cant appreciate from a photo is the effect the use of hard flat lines front and rear (as opposed to tapered in rounded edges - best way i can describe it) accentuates the width (and therefore presence), let alone the added dimensions, long tail. the styling on this car clearly isn't specifically designed to make the car look smaller and lighter, quite the opposite infact.

as previously said i'm not sure how comparable this car is to the current exige s2.

as a side note, was interesting to note the comments on seloc and preference for the black car.... the colour black has the visual effect of making an object look smaller smile

I wonder if you two have different ideas of what makes a car look toy-like? If it's just compactness, even with the extra bloat to fit in the V6, the Exige is still a small, low car. If you mean "doesn't look like it means business", then the Exige has never looked like a toy.

Personally, I think a sportscar should be a toy, a really good one. You should look at it and think "I want one of those", not "I bet that would be useful".

+2. I agree completely with what you are saying. I was using the toy word as it has been used in the past as a negative in reference to the S2. These cars should be small and compact.
