I am now the proud owner of my first Elise - a 98S Titanium with a Lotus Sports Exhaust. As I am sure you can all guess, I am VERY happy...

Quick question then. I feel like perhaps a CAT replacement pipe and an induction kit to beef up the power and noise a little.

How well does the K&N kit work on the Elise?
Will I be able easily to fit the replcement CAT pipe myself?
Above the sports exhaust that I have, what power and noise gains can I expect?

Many thanks

Mike

Opinions vary - if you mean the 57i cone filter then it'll definitely make it louder (possibly too loud if you plan on doing many long trips), hard evidence for any other gains is thin on the ground. Or you can just replace the filter in the standard airbox with a free flowing one, quieter, possibly more power, possibly less good for your engine in the long run.

Probably, as long as you have some ramps to get the rear high enough, and some tools to deal with jammed undertray nuts and jammed cat converter nuts. You'll probably get good at swapping this if you want to go on track as removing the cat makes it too loud for some places.

Should make it loud enough to annoy your neighbours and give you a headache If you really want to know what else it does, put a new standard air filter it (about £8) and take it for a rolling road power run at somewhere like Emerald (about £25) before you do anything else.
