A guide to improving reception can be found here:

www.elises.co.uk/components/s1/audio/index.html

It may be something to do with your head unit. The Sony CD I used to have in my car had excellent radio reception. I recently changed to a Kenwood MP3 unit and can't get radio any more. Not really a problem as I only use radio for traffic news which is invariably useless anyway!

I have a JVC KD SH-99 in my S1 Elise
and it works fine. My car is a late model with plastic engine cover, they may have fixed things but the older S1 I had in '98 worked well with a Blaupunkt (it had an ally engine cover).

the JVC does MP3's so I have 10 CD's
worth of music without a changer box,
also the silver finish fits in well.

What is an invisible aerial?

Apart from the obvious "an aerial you can't see"...

Bizarrely I pick R4 and nothing else until I reach the end of the road and then nothing once I have gone a few miles, this is in Docklands, so rely on the CD player to compete with the noise of the engine.

Actually Bounce what is an invisible aerial? Does this mean it has a 'cloaking' device?
