Got my Elise 111S today from Murray Motor. The car is like no other I've ever driven. The handling is just phenomenal, the brakes are a but squealy and obviously the engine's a bit tight until run in but everything else (includes build quality) is perfect.

Spooky

Is there that much difference between it and the standard S2?

There's also a bit of an Elise run up north (Ullapool ish) after the track morning, a few cars going up for an overnight BBQ on the beach/session . . .

I've had the car for 3 weeks now and it's been running great. Still running it in, only 250 miles before the 1000 miles service. Had the hardtop fitted on recently, the roof makes a bit of a racket and it's a bit of a hassle to take off without another person to help so I've left it on. I've been very tempted to take the hardtop off because the weather has been quite nice for the last few weeks...but I suspect we'll be get some bad weather soon so it'll stay on for the time being. Besides I think the car looks great with the hardtop on. I've booked the car in for the 1st service for the 2nd October so I've just got to go out there and rack up 200 miles in the next week or so.

For any S2 owners out there who has had their 1st service, how much should I be expecting to pay? I remember the sales guy said it would cost £58 for an oil change but the service guys are quoting £79. Can anyone shed some light?

Yep - as I work for one of the largest ISP's in the country, I've got about 7TB of space if you want it hosted. Send them to me in Zip files (max ~3Mb per file) and I'll put them up.

Email me through my profile and I'll send you a direct email address to send them to.

Think I paid about £70 ish for the first service(MMC). Oil(fully synthetic about £40) & filter.
