Hi all,

Looking at new Elises but I can't quite work out what the base model is now. Have they dropped the 1.6?

If you go through http://www.lotuscars.com/about-elise the Elise Sport 220 seems to be the entry point but via a Google search you can still get to the 1.6 134hp car..... does this still exist?!

http://www.lotuscars.com/elise-sport

Thanks!!

Yes, the 1.6 was quietly dropped, and entry level is the 220

Ok thanks... I didn't think I'd seen it mentioned anywhere!

Sport 220 is now the entry. For some reason they're quite bad at culling old, obsolete, pages from their website, so Google can often lead you to outdated information.

Yep, by way of demonstrating their move “up market”....
In 2016, I bought an Evora 400 (range topper) (now mid range) and in 2018 I’ve just sold the 400 and bought a “bottom of the range” Elise220.

I don’t think we’ll ever see a new Lotus sub £40k again, they’re definitely trying to play against Porsche/Mclaren etc.

I just dont understand Lotus anymore.

Why arent the elise cup cars the exige?

Why isnt the v6 exige the esprit?

This way you could keep the 1.6 elise as an entry point, offer the supercharged version for more cash. The go up to the exige and start at the 220 version and go up to the 250.

The Lotus website needs a fair amount of work to be fair however the cars speak for themselves.

I'm after another Elise myself (depending on what I can find used) I may have to purchase another new one. I don't want to contact a dealer but need the price list.

Bit annoying one's not available on-line. Obviously I want a discount on a new car.
