Lotus Sport mode - GCC?

Hi,
Took the center console out of my '14 S3 Elise earlier.
The "Sport" button was connected to a connector on the loom marked "Sport".
On the same loom extension is an unused connector exactly the same as the "Sport" lead but labeled as "GCC".
Google is telling me that GCC is a spec of car delivered to UAE countries.
Is the sport mode programmed differently for that spec hence the "GCC" connector is fitted to the button instead of the "Sport" connector?
