New arrival. Exige 410 Sport
Discussion
I've just bought a 410 Sport in time to be locked down ... so spent a bit of time today going around the car and finding out how it all works.
Unfortunately I don't have the remote control for the Clarion radio ... is that essential ?
I was also surprised to find some of the trim fixings were less than tight, so I sounded out a few and then tightened up the rest to a similar torque.
The whole car has GTechniq PPF ... surely they wouldn't have needed to loosen trim to fit the PPG ?
As an example the fuel filler had three allen bolts loose out of the eight ?
Or is this Lotus QC ?? Let's just say I'm really glad having found a loose washer that I checked it out ??
Maybe I should get spanner check done on at --- at 1200 miles !

Thanks Gareth, I will explore the instruction manual ... It's a Clarion FZ502E system ...
And thanks for the re-assurance.
I once had a moment at an airport in my Elise 111 because my luggage was stuck in the boot which had jammed ... The locking mechanism had vibrated loose and with the help of another traveller we managed to open the boot and re-affix the locking plunger which had been hanging on diagonally ...
And thanks for the re-assurance.

Annoying not to have the remote. I’d get one as much easier to use with it for station presets and just using the thing.
My fuel cap surround was the same just needed a few tightened. I then changed the surround to
Black metal as looks much better and torqued them myself and they’ve stayed tight ever since, over 15 months.
You’ll have a sticky drivers or passenger door latch push next. Warranty replacement rather than a garage tweek is my suggestion.
All in all great cars though just need a wee bit of attention to detail.

Same head unit as mine, a small sub woofer in the passenger footwell makes all the difference to sound quality as the small dash speakers struggle with low frequencies. And thanks for the re-assurance.

Thanks All,
Having downloaded the radio manual and memorised it last night, I spent an hour today putting the reading into practice. It was not easy ...but 'getting there.
The car has had so little use everything was on defaults and no radio presets had been set. So I am guessing that the radio code will still be on 0000 ... at least I hope it is because I don't have that either !
I tried to buy a replacement remote control from the Clarion website but couldn't go to buy ... anybody have an email address for Lotus ?
I then tried emailing Bell and Colville but I was being told that it couldn't be delivered ... we shall see
Now virtually locked-down of course ...

The pioneer system in my original 410 was very frustrating to use. The big circular dial doesn't cope well with adjustments while driving and generally it's a bit pants. The remote does help with avoiding that sensitivity but in reality none of it is easy on the move.
The Sony in my current one is more basic but easier to use. Radio 2 is a new fine. I miss dab but it'll do.

Another question ...sorry.
I believe my car had full carpets and carpet mats.
It says in the instruction manual to remove the carpets when the car is washed.
But my carpets appear to be screwed down, and I don't have any over-mats.
Do these exist from Lotus ? And what about removing the carpets when the car is washed so that the floor can be dried ??

I'd like also to say thanks to all for your help, really useful .... and also a mention for Jamie at Bell and Colville who gave me some essential codes from their records should I ever need them ... now a part of the history of the car
I am soooo looking forward to being able to drive the Exige again !!!
If anybody can tell me how to stop Photobucket doing this when my account has been paid and updated ? Sorted, thank you !!
