Evening

I have looked at a crashed 410- front end damage.
The easiest fix is a new chassis of which there are none available.

Does anybody know if the chassis is the same as other exige models ?

Thanks

I'm going to say that the odds will be in favour of it being my old car.

The chassis for the 410 (and 430) came from the 380 Cup and is stamped "Cup380" at the rear of the tub. It's the same as the 350 but will most likely have some tweaks to justify having a permanent marker stamped into it.

Having been the through the possibilities of repairing this car with the insurers and bodyshop the process would appear to be a lengthy one (and hugely expensive) if you were to use entirely oem 410 parts. The correct chassis can be ordered (with the original chassis number), but i was quoted 12+ weeks on that alone. After that there's the carbon parts and others that are bespoke to the 410. We were looking at 6 months or more in reality from start to finish.

The other way around it, and this depends on the proposed use of the car afterwards, is to use parts from the 350. If you're planning to rebuild for sale then that's going to kill the value. If you're racing or tracking the car then I'd just use 350 bits and fab the aero from fibreglass or plastic.

If you have a link can you send by email. i'd be interested to see what it's listed as.

If it's the same car I 'offed' it at the end of September at Thruxton. Can't be that many 410s on the salvage system. I know it was in storage until recently.

Ah so the one in the pics are the new one. What was the damage loads or just the fact Lotus got no spare parts and the insurance didn’t fancy going the repair route.

84mph impact. Front end, chassis, carbon, suspension, etc.

Repair bill was almost as much as the list price.
