Looking at the common sense side of it I'd say it was a beefed up 350. Makes no sense to have a 390 version based on the 410/20 unless it's going to be similarly priced...... which would make no sense for sales. You'd need to make it a better price to justify the model and as such you couldn't have the same engine with 2 big price gaps. It'd be like putting a detuned M3/4 engine in a 335i. and pitching them £15k apart. Maybe the 350 gets the extra cooling and suspension that the 380 never had? We'll find out next week no doubt.
I feel it will be the 350, without the lightweight carbon bits and fancy dampers, brakes, etc, of the 410, but with a detuned charge cooled engine.
As you say, next week will probably bring more solid news..

AiM is still a cost option. It's a good bit cheaper than buying after, but still a cost item. For interests sake, the battery looks to be a standard item on the 420 too and not a lithium.

The notes I saw said TFT dash as standard?.....

I waited until I had more info and then decided the final edition wasn’t special enough, I’ve decided to get one of the last 20th anniversaries

Will be interesting to see if the current 410-430 drop much in value with people upgrading.

I'd be surprised if it affected values much.

As far as I can tell, the only difference between the Sport 410 and the Sport 420 is 10Bhp and the AIM dash which can be retrofitted anyway?

Doesn't really seem like much of an 'upgrade' for an existing owner. Maybe a few may change just because of the desire to own one of the 'final editions'?

I waited until I had seen sight of the specs for the 420 Exige and decided the deal on a 20th was a better fit for me. I have the AIM dash being fitted and also mine has arrived with the new flat bottomed wheel. Got the change up and servicing support plus discount, picking up next month

I guess the more interesting choice now is for somebody like me, who is considering a second hand Sport 410.

The new Sport 390 now has similar power (397 vs 410, with identical peak Torque) and more importantly is chargecooled, which was one of the big advantages of the 410 / 430 for those planning on a few track days. (I'm assuming it will also get the gearbox cooler?)

I'm just thinking out loud, but for similar money you could have:

Used Sport 410. Advantages: Better brake discs and the Nitrons.
Brand new 390. Advantages: New car built to your spec / colour. AIM dash already fitted.

The brake discs are easily changed on a 390 (and will need to be replaced at some point anyway), which leaves the Nitrons as the only real benefit of the 410?

Perhaps it's actually the Sport 390 which will affect the used 410 prices?

Price list says otherwise, but we'll see what the cars actually come with. Lotus being Lotus and all that.

410 will have the carbon seats and other carbon parts as well. You'd need to spec those on the 390. Baffled sump and box cooler I'd imagine will be standard.

410 will have the carbon seats and other parts as well. You'd need to spec that on the 390.
Since I typed that, I've managed to get on the 390 configurator and have a play.

No option for Carbon seats. Obviously you don't get the nice Carbon Fibre panels and spoiler from the 410 either.

My spec came out at £71,150. That was with upgrading the brakes to J-hooks, and most of the comfort type options. But no added Carbon Fibre at all.

It's definitely tempting, but I still think I'd prefer a used Sport 410 for that money. I think...

I specced a 430 and got it over £110K.

I think the 390 is the one to have...

So full disclosure... I ordered a 390 about 3 weeks ago. My reasons were this.
- Ideally I wanted a new one or pre-reg
- I had a choice of a few 350's at about 65k to 70k but no more on order
- The 390 comes in at 397bhp, so 47 more than a 350, which I was surprised was such a big jump considering the 390 is the "base model" still
- My decent spec'd brand new 390 comes in at £70k, but with all the options I wanted

Most pre-reg 410's or a new 420 we're 82k - 90k and when you look at it I couldn't justify that it was 12k - 20k more car for effectively 13bhp-23bhp more and some carbon and different brakes etc. But in comparison to a 350 for the same money it seemed like a no-brainer.

Just my opinion of course but I thought that weighing it all up the 390 was the one to go for.

Each to their own though.

So I went a little controversial on the colour
- Exige Sport 390 - Final Edition
- Solid Yellow everywhere
- Black pack delete (I know everyone goes for the black pack so I'm sure most will hate it smile)
- Black Forged Wheels
- Black callipers
- Alcantara Seats with yellow stitching
- Black Interior colour pack
- Full Carpets
- Stereo
- Air Con
- Cruise Control

-

I was assured by the dealer that the wing uprights would be black too so not silver as in the pic

Sounds good to me. When I was playing around for fun, I kept taking the black pack on and off.

I think I came to the conclusion that from the front 3/4 view I preferred no black pack. I like the roof and front panel colour coded. From the rear, I think I like the black panel around the lights.

Not sure what I’d actually choose if I was doing one for real!

Nice. It's good to be different in my opinion. If you were following the crowd you'd have bought something else.
