Sorry, accidentally posted this first in USA - I’m in UK

Mods - not an advert, an insurance valuation request.

Current PH article makes me realise my Elise might be worth more than its insured for. I realise if it’s written off then I could point to equivalent cars in classifieds (not that there’s many).

It’s obviously outwith the remit of online car buyers, WBAC gives a valuation of 12k for example. So how do I value it?

The car is a white 2013 Elise S3 1.6 with black pack, 8k miles, full lotus service history with aftermarket body coloured hardtop and a 2bular exhaust. I’m the second owner. It’s almost as new (as you would expect given the miles, and no evidence of it having been on track).

Any opinions, and is it worth getting an agreed valuation?

Check with your insurance broker - an agreed valuation on my Caterham was no extra cost. I just needed to take photos and submit them to complete the process.

Are you a car Lotus owners club member? Most offer some sort of recognised valuation service. Lotus and Caterham expert Guy Munday would be worth a call. He does Caterham owners club valuations in return for donations to the Clubs nominated charity.
