RE: Lotus Europa S
Discussion
Undecided as of yet but I do think it needs to sound a bit more purposeful not to mention added oomph.
Milltek get good right ups but to be honest they have been poor at getting back to me. I have a couple of other options and will keep everyone posted.
Still struggling with the bad press the Europa gets.
I think it rules!!!!

It's rumoured to be getting a big makeover soon
I have read that but I can't see how they would have time etc to really do that. With the Eagle project and the expected production need I would have thought the Europa is the last thing Lotus would be interested in. I woudl have thought its more likely that it will either be discontinued when the Eagle is launched or will just continue as is with a few nips and tucks. It doesn't really need it as its a great car as is!Well, two months in and I'm loving the Europa.
It is a seriously rapid A and B road car, and I think the standard suspension is perfect for our roads. They're maybe quicker track cars out there, but I haven't driven something quite so well suited for UK roads. (in my case Peak District lanes are my usual playground)
And I've still not seen another on the road!
Anyone been on track with theirs yet?
I'm going to do the Cadwell Park Pistonheads evening, and may do a Bedford Evo evening soon.

Boggy
I've had mine for nearly a month and agree with the above. Brilliant car, and I still have not seen another.
The reaction from other people is mad, I used to have an elise and everyone thinks the europa is a better, prettier car. I've had people taking pictures of it on their phone on the motorway, people drive past and then stuff on the brakes looking at it. Today a guy at lights wound his window down to ask what it was and what it would do - he loved it!
Truly bizare, I can't think of any other car I'd rather have. Certainly the best of the current Lotus's in my mind (and I have driven or owned just about all of them!)

Getting on great! Car's all run in now, first servicing is tomorrow, and then i hear that fitting 195's on the front standard s rims is no problem. that's worth looking into : )
larini's next. apparently larini's only sold 2 systems for the Europa to date! i'll be 3rd according to them. its gonna be a long 4 week wait though...

i won't be separated from my Evora, it's the best all rounder in my 40 years of ownership of the mark. But when a low mileage late registered Europa S came up for sale I had to have it as a stable mate for the Evora, it's rarety and improving looks make it very collectable and individual. Only about 80 are registered in the UK. Watch this space even those that were critical of the car at launch in 2006 are slowly starting to come around.
I actually think the Europa is a better looking car than the Elise and I prefer coupe's to soft tops. The fact it's not quote as hardcore as an Elise or Exige is also a bonus fo me. I'm not into track days but still enjoy a fun road car. If I could find one and they were cheaper, I'd have one no problem. At that price though, I'd rather own something else.
