MK1 resale values

Dont know about you but the prices of MK1 cars have really plummetted recently. I bought my low milage 98R from a dealer last August for a then reasonable £18k.
Looking in Autotrader, I would be lucky to get £15k for it 8 months later but I thought the price would stay high with low mileage!
Is this down to the S2 launch/winter/whole second hand car market etc?

Yeah I know what you mean about the prices, they seem to have taken a fall recently. I would put this down to the big marketing push for the S2 and the increased production. I've seen some early, high mileage Elises going for about 11k which is not encouraging for the resell value of my '97 S1.
On the positive side though you have got to ask yourself how much other cars would be worth after the same mileage and time. Looking at the prices for the Elan, they seemed to drop and then steady themselves at about 10k. So I think we'll see the same trend with the Elise... hopefully!
