Thing is, this guy has clearly come on here to try and annoy people. In hindsight the best way to have dealt with him would have been to ignore the thread and let it disappear without a trace. Ahh well

Knowing that about your washing machine is sad!

They're a bit of a handful in the wet Goobs, so watch yourself.

It does have the odd dent in the front where "percussive" maintenance was called for...

From the Saab Driver....

You know REALLYsad?, I know the spin speed of my blender! Used to be an Air Bearing PM, fun was balancing £100k optics on the end of a spindle doing 160k rpm on a cushion of air about 10% the width of your hair. Fun until it went from 160k rpm to zero in .01 seconds and destroyed a bullet proof test case, 2 work benches and nearly a test engineer. Funny smell in that lab and then my office!

I often hear of the MMCs not performing when wet - I've not experienced this in 4 years with my car. They do take a fair push of the pedal without a servo though.

In 7 years time when you think back you will remember them as absolutely terrible. Or maybe you won't ?

This threads hilarious, only just stumbled across it.
From the start a man wining about how expensive an S1 Elise is, how badly developed it is, how the factory won't change parts where he sees fit. I was very amused at this point, then a few pages later it gets even better, he's going to buy a Ultima GTR, possibly the most track focused road car available. also nice an cheap to run as welllaugh A friend of mine was getting 4mpg from his, then there's the cheap tyres at just over £1000 per set, and then there's the purchase price min £30,000 and that will probably need some work, it's basically a kit car as well I know you can buy factory built cars but it is much the same. so the build quality is never going to be up to production standards. Just to clarify I'm not knocking the Ultima I think there great at what they do.
They are also completely impractical for any kind of normal driving, you need about a 30 foot gap in front you before you can even think about pulling away otherwise you'll run into the car in front.
anyway I've said my bit hehebiggrin

And a 100 foot gap in front before you want to stop if they have the same ceramic brakes as an S1 Elise apparently biggrin

lol, you gotta love the internet where people make wild assumptions and it doesnt pay to buck the pack opinion !!!

i drive the same 81 mile country roads 5 days a week facing snow ice fog 4 months of year and they are much busier with larger 4x4 and people who overtake on blind corners, brows of hills and even run blinding lightbars..... deer cross the road , sheep are loose pheasants are just dumb and few would believe a badger ran into side of my car but it happened.

with hindsight its not a daily for an elise ultima or 20vt and my choice for this journey would seem to make sense in a swift sport ....

Wow. Someone comes back after an 11 year pause to continue their rant. That is actually quite impressive although slightly sad and scary.
