Ballcock, Irish, Dubs, how're ye.

You may have seen these on the Le Mans forum but, if not, here's a summary of our trip (via Rosslare).

7th year and enjoyed myself as much as ever. To sum it up in photos (I've just learned how to post these!!)

Car looked great...

Good bunch of lads and great champagne (thank God I had that hat)...

And some great motorracing!!!!

See you all next year - if I don't see you at the classic!!!!!

Only problem with the Rosslare route is that you definitely miss the Exotica that goes via the English channel ports. Also we got to travel out on a semi-freight ferry (Celtic Link) with hundreds of live cattle headed for Italy etc. Am I glad I wasn't born a cow!!!!! 20 hours on a ferry, no doubt more than the same again to Italy and then some fecker shoots you.....

May revert to land-bridge next year....

I may be on Landbridge next year. To me the run to and from Dover is always one of the highlight.

Flat6, saw the picture of you garage and thought it look so irish........checked you profile and it all made sense. Anyway, some of us dream of that double/treble garage, gravel (stone chippings) drive and a porsche looking as good as yours does. Lets hook up for Le Mans 2007. Dubs, Ballcock........no excuses next year!

Looks like I'll be carrying all the tents, gazebos, pools, beer, fridges, chairs........ .

I'm going to look into how much it would be to sticker up like this (or similar to account for PH and Guinness!) and an Irish flag roof .

I have to say Flat 6 , what a stunning car in those colours .. It looks like the real deal. (Everybody was swooning over the pictures on the porsche section so I kept out of it .. but my wife did have to wipe a bit of drool off the side of me mouth !!)

Where abouts are you up north?? .. My warranty is with Agnew so I get up there a few times a year (Well it's an excuse to go mad up the M1)

Thanks for the compliments on the motor lads - I'm persuaded to leave them on at least until the autumn!

Maybe we should be thinking about a p'heads Ireland chapter get-together - would be best to have some sort of event to build around, like GT or BTCC at Mondello. Alternatively, several good trackdays at Kirkistown which I go to, usually Trackskills and TVRCC. I think the Porsche Club also do trackdays at Mondello - that would be worth a look. Next trackskills at Kirkistown is 5th Aug but I'm on hols (France again!!).

Might do landbridge next year for Le Mans - although the 18 hr ferry journey from Rosslare goes in quick when all you do is drink, eat and sleep!!

Cheers

Allen (Flat 6).

Hope the g/f appreciated your efforts!

Ah - I'm slackin, I was meant to pop the cheery in Jan/Feb time but the weather was shit@ and I could'nt be bothered.

Going to try and make it to the next one-checkin out when it is - will let you know if I'm going, also the weather is warmer now!

BTY she did - family treat size bag of Moro bars............ its the little things you miss here!!

Oh stopped off at Porsche Chiswick, and had a very interesting chat - basically I can get myself into a C4S or a targa on the stealer prices, just been looking at whats on offer here so looks like a 911 is going to be the next one!!!!
