Have I missed something? Why is there all this speculation about Dom and involvement in TVR?
Don't think Dom is going to leave the TVR fold but this all started as he is looking to sell his black Sag

I think Dom could do a lot worse that to approach new TVR owner Les Edgar to provide reliable, resilient and robust 4.0, 4.3 and 4.5 Speed6 engines for the new cars.... He's one of the best in the position to do that I would have thought.. All previosu Speed6 issues appear to be sorted now and it's a great engine.
As good as the Speed 6 engine now appears to be it would, in my opinion, be a mistake to put that engine in any new car. Mud sticks and in the mind of the general car buying public it's a fragile and unrealiable engne. Even now it's a fiddly engine to keep in tune if you don't look after it and I'd suggest that it would quickly become a millstone around the new companies neck.
Don't agree, the Tvr Straight Six is the USP, the majority of people who look to buy a Tvr will do homework and we all now know that the new engines are very special and reliable,
So many other British makes that have crate engines if that's what people want but to go that route with Tvr would be a massive mistake.
To paraphrase Dom himself on this issue to get the speed six past emissions regulations for new cars would cost a hell of a lot of money. What they should do is buy the jaguar 5.0l V8.

Fitting the new cars with speed sixes would cost more than buying an off the shelf engine (especially if they buy enough of them that they can get the modifications incorporated on the production line). They need to spend every penny on improving the perceived quality of the cars not replicating parts the customer doesn't see our feel that are developed by major manufacturers on massive budgets.

Pascal, we are aware of your gripe. Congratulations into turning yet another thread about something else into your beef with RG.

Dom, please accept my apologies over this one.... I hope that the sale goes well.

With that, I'm out.
I suggest you reread my comment and then see who reflected it to my dispute with RG.

There are other companies then them that struggle delivering products. But yes, my answer to your comments reflects my situation with them.

Afaik Dom does not have any customers who didn't get the product they pay for.

With that, Dom, if all companies would settle things the way our dispute was settle...(despite you having to cope with very negative comments from my side on here as well, I might add).

PS: definitely still interested in your offer!

What people seem oblivious to or unwilling to accept is the simple fact that without an emissions compliant engine, TVR cannot sell a single car. Low volume/SVA, whatever loophole they build cars under.

The Speed Six cannot be economically made emissions compliant (EURO 6) without it becoming a totally different engine, and it being nothing like it is now.

Forget about the Speed Six...it's not going to happen, even in modified form. A totally new engine, from wherever, is needed.

There's no need for apologies Don, regarding opting out of the "Tvr world" there no chance of that happening im here for the long term , has for diversifying into other Brands imminently yes I have to go down that avenue as the Tvr world will get smaller & smaller each year.

I have no association what so ever with the new TVR owner.

Some customers are asking will it effect my company regarding supply of parts etc, lets put it this way the Russian and Tvr/multipart including RG tried to fk me over 6 yrs ago so I served block exemption through the Europeans courts which stops rich boys trying to control markets.

Now then as for the Black Beauty being up for sale hmmm come on chaps do you really think id sell the old girl, you cant beat a bit of juicy gossip smile

Cough, ello Dom, a sensible question, anything you learnt from 5.0 engineered into the 4.3, improvements? Wondered if you continue to incrementally improve on the 4.3 as you work in higher spec e.g. Components etc.

I didn't see Dom mention this in this thread. Dom - what are your thoughts on making the Speed 6 meet emission regs? And what regs would actually apply anyway given the relatively low volume?

Euro 6 that's a huge investment , would I take on the challenge "nope" crate engine is the only way forward for TVR

Someone is already installing a Jag V8 into a Sagaris to get a road car. Project will be complete later this year.

It's a real shame that the Sp6 can't be used going forward since for many it represents the heart of the cars, but here's a thought...road cars get Ford V8 crate engine, reinstate the one make series and use the Sp6 in the new race cars. Heritage preserved, emission dilemma solved and dedicated PW era TVR suppliers supported. Could be worth a punt?

Wasn't the Jag 4ltr V8 and modular Ford V8 co-developed for a while back in the late 90's (when Ford still owned Jag)? And don't the Jag and Aston V8's (the one in the new Vantage, not the OI's) share a lot of common roots? The Ford V8 is a nice pretty modern lump (I've got a ford V8 in the truck and an LS3 in the hotrod - the ford is more refined, that's for sure).

The Aston engine is the old Jaguar 4.2l V8 unit which has been heavily upgraded. Most significantly it has a dry sump.

The Jaguar V8 was an internal project before Ford took ownership, Jaguar retain the IP but it is built in a subplant in the Ford Bridgend plant. The modular V8 from Ford is something entirely different.
