Engine running hot

I have the Power uprated fans but in this weather will often see 100deg on the water temp, add another 5-8 degrees should I turn the air-con on.
That is all I wanted to hear. I feel much happier knowing that the temperatures I was getting, have been replicated elsewhere. That said, I feel these temperatures are not right and we would have a much happier running engine if there was a way of running them in a cooler condition.Zippee said:
The cooling on the T350 is woeful, look at the angle/placement of the rads and the way air is expelled from the engine bay compared to other TVRs (Tuscan owners will note that the same engine they'll see water temps a lot lower than that on the T350). Myself and my mechanic are going to look into a form of front splitter to help try and create a vacuum under the engine to pull air through.

Sounds like a good idea not suffering from heating issues with these mods and original rad I have the Power uprated fans but in this weather will often see 100deg on the water temp, add another 5-8 degrees should I turn the air-con on.
I'm no expert but I believe they help direst the air straight to the rad and in a more forceful volume than just hitting a brickwall inside the current opening - the way the air is channelled into the rads/engine and then pulled out of the engine bay on the 350 is not particularly efficient.

That looks promising. never seen something like that. Is that an available after-market kit or did you tweak that yourself?Would be very interested in how and where i can get some of these flaps!

Yes my comments were based on Tuscan experience - I didn't realise the T350 was so borderline on cooling.I have the Power uprated fans but in this weather will often see 100deg on the water temp, add another 5-8 degrees should I turn the air-con on.

I'm probably going to make these in Carbon soon. There are only a few T350's with these on, including Trevor Jones, some were factory and some afterwards. It does as Tony said, improve the cooling capability as it pushes the air more directly onto the flat rad, although the later T cars don't have much of an issue. The vent underneath the number plate actually provides more cooling, but this was something that the previous owner put in, having tested it on a T350 he used to own with success.Would be very interested in how and where i can get some of these flaps!
Tony's car is different in that he runs a 4.3, and does need some extra cooling (reason for the rad and upgraded fans), plus it's a slightly earlier car, and mines got a few differences being the later car under the bonnet.

Theoretically they should help to get a better airflow to the radiator. But do you think it does the trick? I guess "later T-cars" meaning 2004 onwards?Tony's car is different in that he runs a 4.3, and does need some extra cooling (reason for the rad and upgraded fans), plus it's a slightly earlier car, and mines got a few differences being the later car under the bonnet.
Is there a way to buy a pair of these on the market? Didn't find them or at least i don't know where to look. Power doesn't have them.
BTW is there something special about the vent below the number plate or is it a plain opening in the bodywork? Would be interested in some pictures.

My car is a 54 plate, the mod Steve refers to is pretty much just the header/expansion tank. Doesn't really make the any cooler just a little more efficient.]

Well, the vent below the number plate, forces air straight onto the radiator, so even more cooling Is there a way to buy a pair of these on the market? Didn't find them or at least i don't know where to look. Power doesn't have them.

Thanks, Steve. I thought, that probably something would be in the way from the shell to the radiator.Actually I do not have the motor yet, so therefore the probably stupid question.
Will have a look into this, when i got mine. TBH i'm quite unsure/nervous when it comes to cooling issues, expecially when the S6 is involved (limited knowledge of course).

No need to be worried I've driven mine on long road trips been stuck in traffic in all sorts of weather, never skipped a beat. Yes I have a few extra vents, but I think the car would be fine without them anyway. It's not a delicate little flower, just be sensible and it's all good I'm more concerned when the car is cold when it warms up it comes alive Actually I do not have the motor yet, so therefore the probably stupid question.

Hi Robert, give Trevor Bee ( TET Mouldings ) a try. I think I had contacted him a few years ago regarding these flaps...
Cheers
