Progress stumbled as engine nicely in the car. My supplied £20 saxo pump just happens to be fried #ffs so the guys couldn't roadtest managed to get straight on it and a replacement £60 with warranty will be with them on Tuesday and air boxes to go in. I'm expecting a next Sunday pick up then the various driving characteristics & experiences will be added.

I really can't praise Dom and the Power team enough. Mean across every component and level of advise it's been completely awe and confidence inspiring.

So real progress beeng made and we are only a day or so away from road test. Engine bay now got my dipped box and cover in cool

Which I love the look of. Just an MOT to go even managed to get a new battery put in due to my original after 6months of unpluggedness not wanting to hold charge.

We are nearly there.bounce

Great to get pics today of how the new switches and leds have been in corporated where I wanted them... my launch button and wheel slip/rev matching rotary all close to hand so easily reached if any pretenders decide to stunt.

Nice to have my cooling fan positioned too. Very happy with the look of the interior

APOLOGIES FOR THE CAPS LOCK BUT I HAVE LOTS TO SHOUT ABOUT. MY CAR IS READY FOR COLLECTION ON WEDNESDAY!

Sailed through MOT and that's even as a decatted car passing its emissions 😎 Thanks to the knock MBE

To say I'm excited is a true understatement. But more posts to come.

Hahahaha

too true mate but going on last year where car was taken to a local place and they were adamant it had to do emissions and it passed literally on the 5th attempt (decatted and before the new MBE and sequential injection bla bla bla) I am more than happy with how this fared. 'flew through' or i'll keep telling myself that wink

Well I got to Powers this AM and spent lots of time with the gang. Car collated and now back home! A proper write up to come but MASSIVE THANKS DOM and Powers!

She is a beaut and after everything that has been changed and upgraded Im giggling while I type.

instantly noticeably is the saxo power steering. I'd recommend to anyone as to me the weight and level of assistance when needed is Perfect.

No pops with the knock MBE???? Thats a myth as this thing is well.... doing its thing.
Jason has tuned that perfectly (mixed with the ceramic coating from CamCoat) the heat is well stored.

At this point I am highly annoyed at having to change gear at 3krpm because the car is just getting there from any gear anywhere sooo easily.

Carbonfibremagic with the dips have done an awesome job so I added a sticker when I got home

Im a happy lad indeed... now Im off to tweak my pro torque app as that OBD2 is syncing well but forget how it was set on the RR and its only for Argento

After *doing a couple of hundred miles I can tell you guys this thing is a lovely machine. Once in 5th I only drop down as Dom says don't labour the engine while running in. The only niggle so far it the wimpy battery doesn't like being started when hot as it grinds but connected to a booster pack and it's instant. An optima redtop has been ordered and should be with me on Monday for me to take to Powers for Tuesday fit (that goes nicely to the miles also).

The weekend saw about 400miles of driving and running in the newly built 4.5ss and all I can say was the car behaved awesomely. No problems what so ever. Even in complete standstill in the baking sun near Stonehenge. Temps never went higher than 98 (95 according to what the ecu was reading).

It was really good to give the right engine a shake and I was allowed to see 4krpm. Even from new the torque in the motor is instantly apparent and pulling from 1k in 5th (not that engine should be laboured) was easy and nothing but thrust unlike the rattling of the gearstick when that was attempted with the original 4litres.

Another noticeable difference is the fuel saving of the sequential injection and the large injections seem to be making my fuel gauge more accurate?

Fantastic Alistair, I am very pleased to hear you are happy with your new engine and MBE. I have no chance of keeping up with you now! Gary took me out in his T350 4.5 and I have to say I was very very impressed by the way that thing pulled. I have always been a bit disappointed with the torque on the Speed Six engines but the 4.5 solves that.

Looking forward to the full writeup and lots of pictures.

How many miles do you have to do before it is run in?
Hi Matthew

They do pull well as you found out and keep on going not found out yet where it runs out of steam but on a race track before I had to brake I was doing 170 and it was still going

I had to run mine in for the usual 1000 miles service then another 1500 miles but I was allowed to odd over 4500 revs, then it had to go back to Dom's for a mapping session on his rolling road, then you can and in Dom's words drive like you stole it but don't kill yourself smile
Great to hear from both of you. My initial run in is for 1200 as there are so many new bits Dom wants it miled up we have decided to not have launch and TVs activated yet (to stop any curiosity straining the engine) after 1200 it's tappets time then can do a little bit more must can't see me wanting to go there on the roads lol

As of today 200,lies done which brings the total to 800.

First leg was to Powers to fit my new Optima Redtop in the hope of curing the hot starting problems due to lack of cranking power from previous new battery and did it work 100% yes! Instant fire from and temp the perfect companion to my HT starter motor.

The drive then took me to Cambridge which was a joy, cars manners were perfect and everything spot on. Still trying to get my ecu app to read lambdas so need to play with the settings but all running well.

Feeling seems more efficient than ever and the saxo PAS is one of the best updates and I recommend. Those that spout out oh Le you steering is for girls and the weights perfect as it is has probably never tried the setup so I suggest you do.

Well played again Dom... see you in 400miles so we can unlock some more wink

Here goes again 250/300 miles done (Norfolk and back)

First thing OMG this car is WONDERFUL!! The MBE got me there on a 1/4 of a tank (albeit at 3k rpm) so I'm already see it pay for itself in fuel usage lol

What a drive the thing is loosening up perfectly 5th from 40 and your head does pivot back at your neck! The engine note and pops from the ceramic coated manifolds passing through the exhaust is a Joy. I may have the bug and have the rest of the exhaust done too!

Really glad I've been tweaking my OBD2 app

All the white gauges and rev counter work and it's great to know that throttle position is reading perfectly (15% no pressure and up to 94%) flat but I never really looked across to see the higher number.

Still need to tweak/select the correct sensors from the vast list to show my Lambdas but I'll get there wink

Whole point of my Journey was to see friends and have some liveries applied (and the chrome wrap on my scuttle addressed). The guys at Totally Dynamic as always produced everything I needed and have me feeling like a BOSS!

Recommending this upgrade from Powers to any S6 owner just annoyed Dom is gonna pull a 4.7ss out. More of this can only be a good thing so looks like I'll start saving now oh and just wait till he releases DbW in the meantime Dom if I get a Griff can you put a SS in that too? Matthew Poxon please don't post any pics of yours as it will make cos the Cerb will get a sibling and I'll get a divorce

In summary EPIC DAY!

Latest as of yesterday. Rather than tappets being done I was given full oil change and now running back on semi 10/40 rather than the mineral running in stuff.

Instant difference noticed certainly from immediate take off as I felt like I would either be sent into next week (or the back of something) or I would stall not sure whats making me gauge the clutch differently.

Now also allowed to get to 5k rpm and use the launch features lightly. Think ill run comfort tests on it today wink

Tappets service to come within a couple of weeks bounce

Matthew I've ripped this from my post on FB, Ok here's an update. After having oils switched and told I can go up to 5k rpm. Went for a spirited run to configure my OBDII app and try a soft launch control. OMG that launch makes you forget to change up to 2nd... why? Because your senses feel like NASA have strapped you to a Apollo mission and put you in orbit! 😳🙃 (Bearing in mind this was me being gentle)!... the app showing great stuff and still needs adjustments to the range of gauges. nice to see ignition advance and things now. still can't get the Lambdas up but will soon wink

oh and one more thing the drive showed how amazing this car is but my throttle only opens up to 80% even when floored meaning cable needs 20% to find. but even now I'm shaking so this is going to be one hell of a time. I may need to learn this car all over again.
Also the steering wheel badge ended up in my lap under the launch. NO JOKE!!

A few more runs to go this week before she is taken to Powers for the tappets and Rolling Road mapping... (every 50rpm if Im not mistaken). I can't wait to see how she comes home and with the full opening of the throttle its going to be pulling Gs like never before.

Then its time for a full detail wink

So she stood up to all miles of running in and is back at Powers for the final coming together.

Nice to get the pic and thumbs up from Dom... "still looks like new" which means my running in was not at fault... I won't say what speed 5th gear @ 5k gets but knowing I'll have another 2.2k really is terrifying me.

Updates are about to get VERY juicey.

Argento was rolling road mapped and the figures are in! Follow link on Powers Facebook page post

https://www.facebook.com/tvrpowersperformance/?hc_...

Dom and Powers are giving away £100 to whoever gets the exact figures (bhp and lb/ft @ the rear wheels) figures rounded to nearest number e.g. .5 and above rounded up like in maths.

I know what I have an I am VERY VERY happy although it was exactly as I'd expect from Dom, who listened to me as a customer and we worked together closely throughout.

Things just got more exciting bounce

To Update final figures are now in!

The 4.5SS Knock MBE has made:

414hp @ the rear wheels
392ftlb

Thats a crank calculation of

482bhp lets divide that by 1130kg and that leaves 427bhp per tonne (2 more than a Lambo Aventador) bounce

I wonder how many horses switching to the Saxo PAS saved me?

Very happy with Doms work and the MBE... before mapping began the baseline figure was 393hp and 377ftlb

Oh and there are flames!

Since the graph and driving upon fitting the Redtop it seems to have highlighted a battery drain. when isolated green lights on the indicator system (ctek) soon as I connect it goes to amber.

The most strange bit is OBD reads 5.3v (@ ECU) but 12.6v "read by scan tool" soon as i hit black button once they meet at 12.5/6v then press to start car and boom both go to 13.4v very confused by this so its in to Powers on Friday as Jay thinks there is a back feed from a dodgy LED
