Speed Sixes should be more reliable/built better. We all agree. See the Al Melling thread for more info. However, in the meantime we're going to enjoy our mobile grenades. Mine has exploded along for the past 12,000 odd miles in 15 months without a hiccup. It may blow up by 20,000 miles, it will be inconvenient, I wish TVR fixed the issues properly. Life is short you could get run over tomorrow.

Just exploded along the M4 in mine doing 80mph (mate following in his new T350 so 3,000rpm limit for now). I reckon I got 28mpg. Bet you wouldn't get that out of a F 250GT wotsit. Also, how long do these specially built Ferrari engines last without major attention? 20,000 miles?

I do not know. Brother has gone to Nurenburgring for races. Sportscar races i think. But as for as i know they take out the engine of the 250 every 2 or three races. Depends a bit. If costumer overrevs the engine a bit they take out the engine every races to see if nothing went wrong. But more or less nothing goes wrong often. But he uses very expensive parts, pistons and so on. So you are right they do not last 20000 miles. But those cars race. TVR''s are not made to ride races in it. Are''nt they? And out of the engine they get about 320-330 hp i think. On the other hand he has got costumers running their ferrari''s in races all year long without any trouble. But still you can not compare those two engines. For reliability my bets would be on the special ferrari engines. But then again such an engine costs more then a few TVR's.

Isn't the 250 GTO "worth" $15,000,000 you could BUY TVR for that
