Jul 03 Tuscan 3.6 - 7000miles with no problems. Incidentally TVR have told me that their accredited dealers will now be offering extended warranties on cars up to 5 years old. Spoke to my dealer and he guestimated £1300 for the year but that includes the engine, clutch and all other wear and tear stuff. Thats got to be good news...

Think this post is a good one as it makes me feel a whole lot better seeing Sp6 engines with 30k miles and no rebuilds!!!

You can't resist it can you Dibble?

For a SEAT owner you still spend a lot of time on here. Never mind, one day perhaps.............

Here's a picture of mine at Le Mans to prove otherwise.

Did you make it to the race weekend in the end or did you head down at a different time?

I was going to go for the race weekend but I heard an unpleasant rumour that you may be there so I went a couple of weeks later.

Hows that work then? Would've thought even with 2X 6k services be nothing like that .

Use mine almost daily, I do like to give it a little more than I should at certain junctions though!, But the car is so darn stable, it's hard to tell if the wheels are spinning or not! (I have been assured they are!)

That will be what the squealing noise is then.

Cerby S6; just short of 12k miles no re-build, but as others have said shouldn't all the engines be doing 50k plus regardless?

Spotted recently on a thread on the TVRCC website (not written by me);

"although I did have one horrible moment there reaching for the Valium thinking that Cider With Cerby was posting...."

18500 miles on W reg and no rebuild.

Incidentally, a little sory related to this. before buying the car, rang TVR up want ting to speak to someone in the engineering room for some advice and was (perhaps unwitttingly by the operator) put through!

Spoke to a chap on the phone in the Engine Building room at TVR itself. By the sound of the noise in the back, he was an oily-rag man with no pretensions at putting spin on his figures. He said that there was a batch if S6s wiht faulty heat tretment on the finger followers, but that this was built up by rumour and nervous owners, and a previous less than perfect (to say the least) reputation of TVR generally.

He advise that if you have gone to 20000 miles without a rebuild, you really should be OK as a fault would have shown itself before then.

Am deliriously infatuated with my car. It is embarassing to witness really. It will break down, I know. I just do not care, because I KNOW it will hence no nerves.

Errmm I think that the engineers information is a little incorrect. I hit just over 22K before mine went. Top and bottom end. All I can say is Ouchie. I hope yours is an exception to the rule but I wouldnt be surprised if you need some work in the near future. That sounds really bad, I really genuinely hope that your engine will be a-okay. Happy motoring fella.
