Lotus; nice cars, shame about the lack of community spirit
Just saw on another thread that you're going for the 3.91 diff. Good luck. That is on my future shopping list, but I'll wait until I can afford a CR box too. John (TVR-Owner) pointed out that with the standard box you'd be in and out of 1st gear very quickly, and with the FFF engine which is very free reving I think it would not suit my driving; I want the longer 1st of the CR box.
But that will be many moons away now I've had the rebuild!
Mind you, took out the Tuscan with the OMEC ECU today too. ANd that is also on the shopping list! But sadly, I only have a total of two kidneys to sell

was at RG today and I saw your lovely Tamora Lee awaiting your collection, to be honest I think you were paying for it whilst I was in my nice bright overalls having a mooch around. Hope all goes well, having chatted to Martin today it looks liek a nice bright future for the engine.
all the best and safe motoring
Dicky
Yeah, he definitely collected it today.... think he's still out in it, but I loved the text messages he sent...all the best and safe motoring

Thakns for updating me on it Lee, and seriously glad for you that you got your car back...
Made the wait to get mine a bit harder now though... But as I said, i'll catch up soon enough LOL
Hi Pascal.
Thanks for your texts matey.
You have something very special awaiting you my friend. It really is.....lovely. And with the OMEC and the S/C you are going to be blown away.... It will be worth the wait.
I'm going to start a new thread just to jot down my initial thoughts.
Guess in a few weeks time I'll be having the same grin on my face as you, when it's my turn....

After1300 miles FFF engine is highly recommended.
Heath at X works has driven it as have Torque flight engineers in N.I.
Both these establishments know a thing or two about TVR's and engines and performance in general.
Both were impressed with the smoothness of the power delivery and the noticeable improvement in torque.

Well that's a bit of information that has passed me by up until now. One of my greatest criticisms of the S6 engine (well, after its propensity to lunch itself) is the lack of low-down torque.
But as always, there is always someone who's faster than... no, wait, that'll be me then LOOOOOL

Well I've just this minute got home from driving first the FFF T350 and then the Omex Tuscan.
Apart from the very noticeable refinement and smoothness, I didn't notice any really marked torque improvement low down on the T350.
However, it should be noted that the engine in the FFF T350 is a low compression 4L as it is earmarked for supercharging.
When opened up and on cam the engine pulled really strongly in the upper revs. I was very impressed and the FFF is definitely something I'll be doing once life and finances allow. So that'll probably be much later in the year. Perhaps get it done over the winter.
The suspension on the T350 is pretty bad right now though. Way to soft on the rear and the turn-in lacks the scalpel-sharpness of my Sagaris. The Tuscan was even worse and didn't give me any confidence when pushing on.
Oh, and by a total coincidence Pascal was over from Belgium and had decided to pop in as he was passing. It was nice to see him again.

My engine is the higher compression with a lightened flywheel.I never drove the 350 or the Tuscan, but I noticed an improvement.Having said that,my car has been off the road since Octoberso the memory may not be as accurate.
Heath from X-works drove it and was impressed.
If you have his details give him a shout and he can give you his opinion on what he thought. If anyone should be able to highkight any differences he should be capable of this.
Cheers

Jon, was indeed nice to see you again, and sorry that I missed you (and Chas I think) when we left (you were out in the T350 then), but I had to rush to the next appointment (friend that was with me was going to check out a 2.3l Duratec conversion for his Elise, the main reason we were there).
True about the T350 low down, it's not much of an improvement on the standard engine, since it's still running the standard ECU and map (as far as I know).
Tuscan is a lot smoother though, especially low down it's pulling away quite a lot easier.
Guess for me it'll be another few weeks waiting, with all the supercharger developments still going on...

NOT!
Off to collect it on my way to the TVR meeting at Chatsworth, but I'll give an update next week. I know Davy is loving his as am I. Oh, and Phil Keen drove mine this week and also thinks it is brilliant.
Your wait will be worth it...
Just had a great drive up to and down from Chatsworth today, after it's running in service. Realyy running, very nicely.
So far there has been one test pilot of the T350 demo car that doesn't like it. A German lady who said, wait for it....... it felt too much like a BMW!
I'm still mulling that one over.....

Great day. Pretty decent bunch of people, TVR owners!
Lee - I think it was your car that the RG man (sorry forgot his name) took me out for a drive in on Sunday - thanks v.much for that, much appreciated, beautiful car BTW (though the pops and bangs would get me thrown out of my village ).However I'm now almost willing my engine to go (couldn't justify it otherwise) and now I've had a taste of the FFF (so much smoother and more low down pull), the original will, from now on, always fall a little short.
(And to think I had even entertained the idea of an LS conversion if the worse had happened)
Cheers
